Typing Special Characters
« on: January 02, 2010, 09:27:47 am »
I have noticed many questions here and there about typing the special characters like ä and ì.  Maybe this should be added to the initial FAQ section but in short you get to them via "alt codes".

This is a long version of the chart, but by using the "alt" key and typing a 4 digit code you can get the special characters.  Here is a full chart: http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html#accent.  For example to get the a with its two dots you would hold ALT while typing 0228 (remember the zero) and you get ä.

I'll put a link in the "useful links" thread about that chart.

Irayo. :)
