The heart of the discerning gets knowledge.
The ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Slu txe'lanur tuteyä atìtslusam tìomum.
   Fwew memikyunìl tuteyä atxantslusam tìomumit.

Knowledge comes to be for the heart of the understanding person.
The ears of the wise person seek knowledge.

Can I use slu this way?

no. use za'u ne instead.  ;) ;)

also, tìtslusam is a gerund, 'the act of undurstanding' to be used as a noun. remove the tì there and you're clear.

the rest is good.

EDIT: how about tel txe'lanìl tuteyä atslusam tìomumit

Very nice.  I looked all around for 'own', 'acquire', 'posses'.  It's almost täpeykel...

if you wanna say 'get something' in the sense of receive, use tel.

there is no verb 'to have, own, possess' on PURPOSE. there never will be one. we use lu Xru Y. A gets a B is Al tel Bti

I know, I know.  The verb is more specifically "acquire".  I was wondering, if, in Na'vinglish, "Something is for me" (I have something) could be stretched over time into "Something is becoming for me" (I am coming to have).  Tel is receive, a passive idea.  In this proverb, the discerning go and get knowledge.  Perhaps lìyevu Xru Y???

OH So it means "get" as in "retrieve" not "receive". GOTCHA. uhm... yeah, I can see how "may X come to have Y" would be lìyevu Xru Y.

Well, we have munge which means take. not necessarily steal, but take.

we have zamunge (which i believe is derived from za'u-munge, come-take) which means bring.

I wonder why we dont have kämunge which might mean go-take, retrieve

Thanks for thinkin'.  I wish was more productive: we could solve this and the 'ascend' problem all at once!

indeed. but such is the price to pay for global consistency by management of the language creator.
