I love Ben Mezrichs' novels!

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is really cool as well.
What do you all like?

"J" to the "K" Rowling
Tolkien
Stephen King

The heavy hitters pretty much. I really don't know any medium to small time writers that I don't have at least some issue with. Take the guy who did "His Dark Material" for an instance. His story is totally awesome, but I really don't like the way he writes. Also, I'm fairly certain his favorite word in the whole world is "presently".

JK Rowling, certainly.
Terry Pratchett
Frank Herbert
Tolkien
Isaac Asimov
Ursula LeGuinn

I have two Ernest Hemmingway books that I've never read. Apparently they're amazing.

David and Leigh Eddings first and foremost forever
followed very closely by JRR Tolkien
also, in a very different vein, Aaron Elkins
and in a VERY different vein Linsay Sands

There are lots of other authors I follow, but those are the "favourites" that come to mind

Tom Clancy ;D

I haven't read a Tom Clancy yet. I like some of the games, but I'm willing to bet the books go much deeper story wise.

There are a few others but I'm wayyyy to lazy to get up.

I forgot about R.L. Stein. I don't like Goosebumps anymore, but they were a huge part of my childhood too. Also, I'll add Shakespeare to my list.

Pleh, Shakespeare.

Iain M. Banks
Athena Thompson
JK Rowling

Ftxavanga Txe′lan

Tolkien all the way! :D Other than him, I would say J.K. Rowling, Charlotte Brontë, Stieg Larsson, Camilla Läckberg and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, to name only a few examples. :3

I agree with your agreement! ^^
Okay, I have to add Donna Tartt to the list. I've nearly finished The Secret History and despite the fact the book includes two murders, incest and homosexual intercourse between friends, it's written really well!
