(X)Ubuntu 11.04 - Please Help

Okay, so I found out that Xubuntu 11.04 can install on my epic 1999 Dell Inspiron 3800. Well, I forgot that that type of Linux uses a software center, through the webz. So, I can download any program for it through a tarball, but the laptop doesn't have Wi-Fi or an Ethernet slot, but I would need WineHQ to install the Wi-Fi extension I have for it. So, could someone help me with how to install a tarball with the script command within?
