Current Version: 5.0

Well, it's about time we could keep up with this. For those of you enjoying FireFox 4, it would be good to know that 5 and 6 are already on Beta releases. Their generally Minefield releases, but go under codenames "Aurora" (In process), and "Nightly" (In future sight). They can be downloaded, 6 being the easiest to find, but they're a slight pain to get to. I have Nightly on a portable account at school, so I don't remember what FTP site Mozilla had up for it.

Just though you'd like to know.

Still running 3.6 here.

Never updated because one of my addons took forever to be updated for 4.0...and 2 of them are not supported on 4.0 :(

I run the 4.0.1 version and it's working just fine. The only change that i've made is the skin. (I put an avatar skin on it). I'm not going to change it to other beta versions because the beta versions always causing conflicts with other applications. (For example when motzila v.4 was in beta version, crashed with my antivirus (AVG).

I have IE, Firefox and Chrome. I use Chrome for daily activity. Anything Chrome can't digest, I use Firefox or IE. IE I haven't touched in ages, only because it's the slowest browser in the world. Firefox is a solid performer still but chrome took the cake and ran when a friend installed it and didn't tell me. LoL.
See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.

I love firefox, it's a wonderful browser except the fact that it becomes so slow that it is fully unusable if I don't restart it every 1-2 hours...

Mine doesn't usually become slow...but it does need to be killed in task manager on occasion. It'll randomly  become slow (or freeze) and peg one of my CPU cores. Then its RAM consumption starts ballooning until the system runs out of memory or I kill it.

No clue why it happens either. Sometimes it won't happen for days. Other times, it can happen twice in an hour.

Human No More

Mine doesn't since I cut down on the number of tabs and windows. Keep it under 100 and it never crashes.

I still use 3.6 though, 4.0 is fugly and is missing support for a lot of addons I love, as well as just full of stupid decisions like the missing status bar.
It's annoying, I like firefox but Mozilla seem to make it their mission to break it in new ways with every release.

I never have more than 30 tabs open at once, and they're usually closed fairly quickly. It still freezes.

I think it's caused by bad add-ons though. Running without them, I can easily open 50+ tabs without slowdown or freezes.

I have only 2 open at a time, but Firefox does take over my RAM on a bad day.

[Bump]

To make this an official bump, Firefox 5 is now out officially. It's not major because it isn't a complete overhaul like 4.0 was.
