Oh my...

Please do not buy Alienware, they are so retardedly overpriced.  I don't pretend to know the PC/computer component situation in Norway, but there has to be a better alternative.

Indeed. I would recommend this: http://www.komplett.no/k/ci.aspx?sku=10490 - Same performance, half the price.

Or this: http://www.komplett.no/k/ci.aspx?sku=10278 - Better performance, slightly cheaper.

Oh, and this if you need a display: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=599897

no way to have that slow processor the first on on 3.3GHz and the second one on 3.2GHz

I want a faster processor, 3.9GHz is better

you know I am going to have very good games, that is why I need high RAM, CPU, and even video card must be bigger. Not 1 GB but 2 GB

Well you're the one who's wasting your money. I was just suggesting that you maybe don't want to buy something that's about double the price. If you don't want to accept my help then it's your problem.

for £1200 my brother built a computer with 8GB RAM, 3TB hardrive space, Sandy bridge I7 (second best one currently on the market.) blu ray drive, 2 1GB graphics cards rigged up in a crossfire.

Alienware is horribly overpriced.
Only mostly AWOL.

No it isn't and a CPU is a very, very complex device. You can't simply count performance in hz. Sure, the 3.9 Ghz CPU is faster than the CPU in the cheaper machine, by about 10%. But the more expensive machine I proposed has a different kind of CPU that have several internal differences making it at least as fast.

Anyway, the CPU isn't that much needed in games anyway. The only game that is going to get anything close to using even 50% of your CPU is Battlefield 3...

Also, Video card memory doesn't matter s*** unless you're gaming on three screens.

Yikes, I completely missed the price...as everyone else said, that's WAY overpriced. I can build that for ~$1250 (excludes monitor).

With Alienware, you're paying for the name and pretty looks, not the stuff inside.

Mcafee is awful

for about £120 you can get a reasonably large monitor

Blu ray drives are like £50 iirc

Still not worth it

Then it'd be be about ~$1460. A monitor can be had for ~$140, BD is ~$70, and wifi card is <$20.

I wouldn't touch McAfee even if it were free. Same goes for Norton. AVG, Avast, Avira, and Microsoft have free antiviruses available. (I'm using AVG myself.)

I can get a monitor for 1544 NOK/£172 and it is in full HD

Mcafee is the only virus program I get, or I can just download the AVG virus program, that is a very good virus program, and it's free too :D

So maybe you have right, I skipping Mcafee, and take AVG

what you think, is AVG better?

and I can get a 8x blu-ray for £102

but DVD+/-RW 24x is included in the price for the Alienware Aurora without some extras

and now for the monitor again:
If I want 3D, it will cost 4200 NOK/£468

They're about the same. McAfee has slightly better detection rates, but is more bloated than AVG and isn't free. I used to use McAfee, and it was always wasting a lot of resources.

You can get a 8x BD-ROM DVD±RW drive for $70/£48. Whoever's charging £102 for it is ripping you off.

I'm not sure exactly what you need here :-\ All the 3D monitors I find seem to mention nvidia's 3d-vision tech...you want an ATI card. I'm sure someone else knows more about this...

I use Microsoft security essentials personally for an AV.

Built by the people who built the OS so I think they'll have a pretty good one
Only mostly AWOL.

Ikran Eyktan

I would stay far away from both Symantec and McAfee, I personally find them to be huge resource hogs.  I have tried NOD32, and its decent/fast IMO, the real time protection is pretty transparent and I generally don't even know its running.

Tsanten Eywa 'eveng

on AVG can I get 10 years protection

I tried Norman before, and that sucked >:( >:(

It was virus all the time, I sent the pc for repair more than one time, maybe two or three times, and it was only 1 year protection >:( >:(

Tsanten Eywa 'eveng

OK, I've found some who are very much cheaper :)

here is one:
Packard Bell
Processor: 2,8 GHz AMD Athlon™ II X2-processor
Video Card: NVIDIA ® GeForce ® 405 graphics solution with 1024 MB dedicated memory
RAM: 4 GB
HDD: 1 TB
price: 3795 NOK/€500/$683/£430
