Even a longer time ago with my 14.4 kbps modem I had to download larger files over night. It was a real pain to discover that the connection was closed somewhere near the end of the download during the next morning

"connection was closed somewhere near the end of the download" philips modems have the problem. cant play online. Example 375 mb file downloading : 1.5 mb/sec [2 mins later] 10 seconds remaining but modem makes UDP FLOOD and connection crashes. [Modem gone]

i remember in that time the first internet connection we had was the 56k but after my dad decide to downgrade to free internet connection NETZERO !!!.
