Muzer

Overview:

Name: muzer-gentoo
OS: Gentoo GNU/Linux, everything compiled completely optimised for my own CPU
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     E7300  @ 2.66GHz
Mobo: ASUS P5B-SE
RAM: 2GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
Drives: 2 HDDs (1x250GB IDE, 1x320GB SATA); 3 optical (1 DVD, 1 BD, 1 DVD multi writer, all SATA); 1 3.5" floppy (which I occasionally swap out for a 5.25" floppy if need be); 1 multi-function card reader; 1 ZIP drive (these are awesome!).
Monitors: One ASUS, 1680x1050 @ 60Hz, One Kenmark 1024x768 @ 75Hz (the Kenmark I use for my old consoles/computers, as it's a TV really, but it acts as a second monitor for my main system when I'm not using them). I'm looking at buying a new primary monitor as I hate the uneven backlight on this one. Dark screens look white at the bottom and top!
Speakers: Cambridge SoundWorks 4.0 surround (well, 4.1 physically, appears to the computer as 4.0, as the subwoofer takes lower sounds from the 4 other channels automatically)
Keyboard: Generic brand, quite poor but I don't do much gaming so it's fine for me.
Mouse: Microsoft wireless mouse. Really good, I wouldn't want to replace it - it's been going for 9 years and is still doing well! If there's one thing Microsoft can make well, it's hardware (with the obvious exception of the 360)
Gamepad: You can't be a retro game enthusiast without one of these! Just a generic brand one I picked up from GAME before they stopped doing PC stuff. Not brilliant, but gets the job done and is pretty comfortable.

Internets: My computer is set up as both a router and a dial-up server. I connect to my router via wifi, and then I use my computer to give internets to any of my old consoles/computers via dialup or ethernet. Very handy!

sadly for me- the UV CCFLs don't really show up well in the light..  and look awful in the dark on the camera, all the glowing components and wires on the inside, and the front grill alien eyes are all on 7-colour flashing sequenced LEDs.. so.. :B  amusingly..  my speak system cost more than my my CPU, Mobo, RAM, and both video cards put together!

I prefer to spend my hard earned cash on obscene numbers of CPUs and extra drives for SATA arrays, so refer to these stock pictures:

Funny thing though...  It's slower to have 2 actual processors, rather than a multi-core chip. :o  so. an 8 core i7 would be faster than your 2x4 core setup.

Give us a chance, MORON!

Yes, but in this case there are 2 quad core CPUs, so the overhead you're referring to is well compensated by the fact that this has 8 physical cores to run processes on (vs an i7's 4, you do the math), and parrelellization is more important than raw speed on that machine 8)
I think he may have been referring to the i7 980X, which has 6 physical cores and HT. Of course, for the price of one of those you could instead get 4-5 or so Xeons...

Oh yeah, my rig:
