I'll be proudly displaying my T-shirt for the site on most weekends for my normal clubbing activities. Thinking about ending my next set in LA with a big giant IRAYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive done stranger things when i finished sets before :P

Anyways, back on topic. Yeah, if we want to plan even an informal group of us to go to local (depending on where you live) cons, i'd be down.

I'm pretty sure I can go to this! I live 15 minutes from the Hyatt, so it's plenty convenient.

I think I might actually be out there during this.  If so, I'd love to go!

I've sent an email to the programming email address.  If I don't get a response in a week or two I'll try another.

If I still haven't gotten a response by the end of next week, I'll start pulling strings through my chain of friends. :)  I know people in some high places in Baycon, so I can probably get directly in touch with whoever I need, if needed.

Given that apparently there's been a bit of a shake-up in the staff of Baycon (Including programming team lead) I gave a little time, and just re-sent the message, this time CCing the general information email address.

Still waiting a response.

P.S., I'm not usually a costumer/cosplayer, but I'm SERIOUSLY considering dressing as a Na'vi, so I can look AND speak the part, unlike the others I'm sure will be there just dressing the part.  (Who I can then taunt by going up to and speaking Na'vi at them to blank stares in response.)

This sounds like fun.

When would you like to meet up and coordinate. Or do you just want people to show if they show?

I am in the Reno area and would be very interested in coming down to the bay area for a day or two. I helped with a Narnia fan convention a couple years back, and it was a lot of work to organize. But perhaps even an informa gathering where we all shared in renting a meeting place might be interesting. I think there are enough people on the map between here and SF to make for an interesting 'meet and greet'. More importantly, it would give a venue where we could openly practice our speaking skills. If this proves sucessful, maybe something more substatative can be arranged for next year. Trying to do too much too fast is where the Narnia thing fell apart. irayo

I finally got a preliminary response from Baycon, as the dust settles, people return to their posts, and catch up on emails.

The gist was that an Avatar / Na'vi based panel or BOF is certainly something to consider.  Nothing beyond that, at the moment.  I'll keep you all posted.

We seem to be in similar situations when it comes to replies from the conventions organizers...

I have a novel Idea, maybe you have heard this one before, stop if it seems a bit ridiculous.

Seriously, maybe someone should register the domain and get it going.

The programming is up, it's 10 am Sunday.  See the first message for full details.  For locals that want to pop by for the day, it's something like $20ish for a one day membership.
