To me the shawl looks like an actual leaf that's been reduced to nothing but veins.  Wouldn't it be absolutely epxikx if that was what they actually used to scan into the computer for it?  ;D ;D ;D

This is what I meant.  To get that level of detail from an ordinary 'Rrta sized leaf, you might have to use electron microscopy or something.  Some of those pictures are just amazing.
You could actually use a regular microscope for the level of detail that you see on the shawl. You can even see the chloroplasts with a regular microscope sometimes ;) (sorry for the tangent)

I would've asked Mo'at to borrow me her shawl if i could  ;D. And used it as a blanket  ;D. That thing must be huuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggeeeee  :o!
Haha true, you could use it for a blanket fort ;D

Yay, blanket fort  ;D! Just the thought of it brings out the 6-year-old in you  ;D!

Seriously though, to the Na'vi it may not be more than a ceremonial garment, but to us humans it could also be used as a very warming blanket. However, if Mo'at would lend me it, i would make sure she washed it first. Otherwise it would probably smell like smoke and perfume  ;D!

Speaking of which: Do you think Na'vi use perfume or something similar to make themselves smell better?

Me too. It looks so comfy  :). Kinda like a bathrobe. However, since i am (and all humans are) too small, i thought i might get an alternative use of it. Just a fun thought  ;D.

I don't think the Na'vi would use anything... if they do, it'd be a natural scent, so it wouldn't overpower you. :P

I'd wear it as a cape :D

Just what i thought as well. If they would use anything as a perfume, they'd probably use extracts from flowers. Which leads me to the thought that the flower Neytiri had in her hair when she had her hair let down was perhaps for another purpose than just aestethics.

I'd probably throw it onto my head and wear it like a headdress ;D.

Looking at these pictures makes me notice how small Mo'at's ears are and how wide her nose is.

Off-topic: Ma Le'eylan, i've noticed your forum avatar, and i know that the very same woman is on a pic at the top of your blog. Any specific reason for this  ???

I think its female. It looks like one of the Na'vi in Kelkutrell when Jake was being escorted in.

Isn't she the female Na'vi who goes with Jake and co. to Iknimaya for the Ikran rite  ????

I dig her. She seems so cool  ;D! Her hairstyle accentuates that she's a warrior and a skilled hunter. She really seems like the hunter type. That's why i think she is the one that Neytiri mentiones to Jake as Peyral  ;D.

I doubt that she's Peyral, actually.  If Peyral is a strongly "good hunter" to the point that Neytiri's mentioning her, I'd think she would be a little more mature and experienced, someone who's been through uniltaron as well.

Might be, might not be. Anyway, good point  :). To me, she seems like a Peyral persona, so until i'm proven otherwise, she's Peyral to me  :).

Mawey, ma Neyn'ite, Iknimaya is simply the time when Jake and the other young hunters climbed the rocks to get to the place where they get their ayikran.  The part that got skipped and is in the deleted scenes is Uniltaron, the dream hunt. *pets*
