Mechanical tail

We have a lot of tails over the forum. Some of them are prosthetic (flexible), some solid (springy), even few animatronic projects (controlled by joystick or push buttons) was mentioned here. My favorite are the Karyu's tail.
But I found projects that are much different from other solutions.

It works like animatronic tail but movement are controlled by shoulders. Because of that, tail movement looks very natural, almost like real.
IMO it would be nice to combine this solution with little motor to add swing mode,

Forgot to mention two important thing:

1. This project isn't compatible with body painting cosplay. You need to chose costume cosplay. That's may be a problem for many peoples.

Notice how the black and white string cross eachother in the middle of the tail, so that the right part bends up and the left part bends down.

The white string has to be stiff and robust, the black string has to be flexible (rubber string). The white strings have to be crossed between the first holes and the copper wire, which serves as guide. The part that is attached to the belt is directed down. The strings are knotted to the end piece of the tail.

There are two pieces: the segments (long rectangles) and the links (round). The segments are stuck together with the slits and then the link is stuck over the joint. The whole thing moves by bending the segments, therefore you need a stiff but elastic material. Polycarbonate is really good for this, maybe other plastics are good, too.

This is not a real instruction, more an explanation of the concept. It isn't really finished, either, the attachment to the belt is not really practical as it pulls up your pants. There has to be found another method for attaching the tail. But the tail itself and the segments work quite good.

Hmm ... it's true.  But in any case, this mechanical tail is interesting thing.

If the mechanics were all painted blue, but perhaps for it to be seamless it would need to be under some material.
Unfortunate but still amazing.
