I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of Na'viyä tanhì down both arms. Except, I want to have it be UV reactive, so it would glow! What do you all think? Good idea, bad idea, crazy, not crazy? Lemme hear your opinions on the matter! :D

Well my general rule with tattoos is that I have to wait a year after coming up with the idea before getting them, that way I can be assured it won't be something I regret to much later in life.

Still, this is a pretty cool idea. I've heard a bit about UV reactive tatts, you can only see them in black light and they glow right?

Not entirely true, you can still see the design on normal skin if you look at it due to the damage it does, however its not as obvious as having colored ink in of course.

Was actually thinking about getting "Na'vi-esque" blacklight tatt's in my face the other day  ;D (yes yes, I know it's a SUPREMELY stupid idea, but I had it all the same ;D)

Would have to decide on a face-pattern ofc, but imagine having your face light up everytime you walk under blacklight - kinda like freckles :D (which, if I had any, would without a doubt be tattooed with blacklight-ink allready!)

Can't wait for the dvd to come out tho, need to scour images of the interior of Hometree for any type of Na'vi artwork. You know, Aztec, Celtic, Maori, etc. all have different styles, been thinking if the Na'vi/Omaticaya have their own style too.

Well, you could take the Tattoos for a "Test Drive!"  Instead of getting the tattoo, use face paints or makeup that glows in the dark/under uv light and wear it for a while.  If you like it and think you want it permanently, get it tattoo'd!

Maweyatan

Unilmokri, I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I didn't want to seem crazy.  ;) I might have to use the UV Paint idea. I think it would be an awesome tattoo if pulled off correctly. Again, Unilmokri, the tribal/Kelutral-esque tattoos would be pretty awesome. But, after all, this is only a thought of my many weird and unusual ones. :D

I'm surprised nobody else posted something about this. It's actually pretty cool.

I just heard that the ink stays in well. A couple of people over the internet told me that. Oh well, I'll trust the pro. Irayo ma, Kxeyey!  ;D

~I gave you cookie, because you corrected my sight on the situation :D~

Maweyatan

Ahah that's funny. Not the scar part, but the moustache part. And no problemo referring to the "cookie". Thank you for clearing my menari. ;)

Well, at least there's still the glowing makeup!  Besides, you can change the design of your makeup anytime you want!

Maweyatan

Yeah, now I just need to find a good, non-phosphorous UV Body Paint.  ;D

You are not alone ;) That way, if we ever see each other, we'll be able to recognize ourselves just with some Na'vi talk and a black light :P

google has answers to almsot all your problems :)

and if you were to get tanhì inked on your body, it wouldn't be the same unless you had the blue skin.

can't wait to use that UV paint next time I go Lazertaggin.  they use so much UV light there :)

Well this has been eye-opening for me too. Thank you Maweyatan for the question and kxeyey for the knowledgable answer. This will defenitely be useful for a lot of people who had similiar questions.

Irayo ma Robert. I hope it helps them understand it is bad to have invisible tattoos on the body.  ;) I have learned from Kxeyey that it's more trouble than it's worth.

What he said :)

Still thinking of a tattoo design, but the black-light ink idea has been scratched - sounds too troublesome indeed, and Im neither rich or patient enough to have them re-applied all the time  :P
