Today earth day, what i did as green action

Going work by public transit
Buy avatar blue-ray and take to plastic bag
Eat local food only

Hmm...let's see...

;_; didn't deliver papers by bike as usual, had to gt my mother to drive me around because they were late and GIGANTIC, talk about WTF?! it's Earth Day the papers should be tiny to not waste resources!

BUT!

Rode my bike to practicum (as usual, since I don't even have a driver's license, much less a car), hung out my laundry on the line instead of using the dryer, planning to do some transferring of my heritage tomato seedlings into recycled paper pots so they can be put directly into the garden instead of fiddling with wasteful plastic pots... I think I'm managing okay

Hmm let's see, rode my bike to school/work, recycled everything possible, made my own food instead of going out, and a giant tire bonfire. wait you weren't supposed to know that... pay no attention to me.

Bought a submersible pump, surgical tubing, and a bag zip ties for a DIY hydroponics system made from recycled bottles.

Aiming to use as much recycled parts as possible aiming to use so that the only purchased components are pump, growing medium, nutrients, tubing, and a few other assorted bits.

Hopefully pics to follow as I finish sketching the design and actually assemble it.

Helping the Earth in small roundabout way I reckon.

1 Instead of throwing stuff on the ground (on school)
I throw it into the trashcans,
2 Recycles,
3 Uses bike to go to school.
4 Drinks Ice Tea green (well It's a green action, and it tastes good, so it's a green good action)

My green action is more like a complete lifestyle change, and I believe I've said it other places on here: I'm becoming a vegetarian (granted, I'm not going to "cold turkey" it, because that causes more problems than I need).

Look it up: greenest thing one can do.

Ah, earth day starting daily habbits.
1- Made pact with 5 or 6 of my friends to all ride bikes to school everyday even in rain.
2-I began to plant one tree every month in my woods/backyard (already did one)
3- 9:00 all lights out ( gotta use candles + makes my room smell good!)
4- don't use guitars amp when i don't need too.
5- currently doing more everyday i love my earth. and pluto. Kinda hard between pluto and earth...

When I was a kid, Pluto was a planet...

I also happen to be writing a paper about the link between vegetarianism and the environment...

Mine is good and bad: I skipped sociology and saved gas

Also, I didn't print my final paper; I e-mailed it to her instead, so I saved a tree (?).

Baby steps, Rain, baby steps...

Now if I could just get my family to turn off the lights when they're not in the room...

Actually they say dwarf-planet, but it almost could be a moon I think, pluto's moon and pluto basically orbit around each other.

well i did something kinda wierd. i planted a small baby tree in a pot at my window and its growing so beautifuly! i want to take this tree wherever i move, and one day, plant the tree when its big enough. i kinda want this to be a long commitment. oh and also, whenever i take showers, i take the soap and scrub, thats when i turn the water off, then i turn the water back on when i am covered in soap, rinse myself off, wet my hair fast, turn water off, put soap in my hair, kind of scrub it in for about a minute, then turn water on and rinse. then i am done! this might sound silly, but just imagine how much water you can save!
