One of the important tasks of mankind today is to save the amazing biodiversity of our planet. In order to save it we must also study it so that we know what to save and how we shall do it. As it is now, many species are destroyed without we even knowing about them.

An ambitious project to learn to know and collect knowledge about so many organisms as possible is the Encyclopedia of Life. The idea was created by famous biologist Edward O Wilson.

The Encyclopedia are now taking form and great efforts are made to collect and make available the knowledge about all the species on our Earth. Really a project worth supporting.

Hear Edward O Wilon talk about saving the life on Eart:

I have a nerd-crush on E. O. Wilson.  I used to work at a zoo, and we named a baby anteater "Eo" after him  ;D
