And for storing the energy you need hughe batteries wich I doubt are eco-compatible due to the chemicals...

You can always use capacitors for live solar power

Give us a chance, MORON!

But doesn't capacitors lose their charge over time? And can they store enough energy when there is no sun? Sorry, I aborted my electrical engineering studies two years ago ^^

While admittedly they involve flooding a valley, the benefit they provide is enormous.
I believe that there may be a solution to that problem, though it would only work in very specific locations. Basically my idea is that hydropower and geothermal power can be combined. This would involve lake or river water to be dropped off of a cliff edge into a tunnel lined with alternating turbines drilled down to about 100 meters from the mantle. From there the heat of the mantle would turn the water to steam and send it shooting up a connected shaft going straight back up to the surface. At the top of that shaft would be a series of turbines to extract power from the steam and finally a condensing chamber to turn the steam back to water, which would in turn flow back down to rejoin the main body of water to go through it all over again.
Downside: A lot of dead fish
