Hrah... that's stupid. I use the same shopping bags since 10 years. (And they should be replaced now, honestly...)

Maybe people are also just too used to getting plastic bags that they don't even bother bringing shopping bags.

I dislike that disposable attitude...

well I have been a common user of the plastic bag...  :o yeah big shocker... but I collect ALL of the bags I get and I hoard them until I cant hold onto anymore. Then I take them to the store and drop the lot of them in the plastic bag recycle bin.

I know that it isnt as green as the reusable, because then they have to ship the old bag somewhere and turn it into plastic wood or new bags, but I have the ability to use the old bags around the house if I need to.

Neytiri: She will try to kill you.
Jake: Outstanding. *takes out an ikran-catcher and walks through hometree looking for women*

About reading on paper or on screens. Perhaps the technique with soft screens or electronic paper soon is here. These screens feel a bit like paper, you can roll them up like a scroll and carry them with you. You can read books and newspapers on them, and in the future you would probably be able to watch movies on them too (perhaps even in 3D).

I feel like i'm living in Star Trek or something.  That's really cool.

Although, we're living in the 21st Century now—where the hell is my Jetsons car?   ;D

Have confidence, the flying car is on its way (probably).

This is a volantor. It is from this kind of vehicle Cameron got his idea for his flying machines in Avatar:

I find the cloth bags most stores give out to be a bit shoddy, so I generally reinforce all the stitching before using them much. The plastic bins (http://www.squawkfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/reusable_green_bag_bin.JPG like these) on the other hand, wow, they're the best multi-use container I've seen in a while, great for standing stuff on, indoor planters, and bookshelves. Oh, and carrying groceries, that too.

I have 3 bright pink milk crates in my car that I use to carry stuff in from the car.  They are wonderful!  When I go to Sam's Club, I use them exclusively!

I love the quote from the Moller website:

New Technology goes through three stages:
First it is ridiculed by those ignorant of its potential
Next, it is subverted by those threatened by its potential
Finally, it is considered self-evident.
