Is it just me or was the 80s the golden age for environmental/conservation television shows?  Anybody recall some of the shows they had back then?

Captain Planet is probably the best known one (as well as Fern Gully if you count movies), but there were a few more obscure shows such as: Widget the World Watcher, and my favourite from when I was a kid:  Stop The Smoggies! Intro

What others do you folks remember?

Interesting to hear about this because I wasn't born back then ^^

I grew up with H.R.Puffinstuf. It's a miracle everyone from my era didn't turn into drug addicts. The popular media of the time certainly tried hard enough.

The only thing about the 80s I know is from GTA Vice city :B

But most of the the environment-awareness shows from the 80s ran in syndication throughout the 90s, I even see Captain planet nowadays..

Speaking of it, I was amazed to see how many big named actors (all of whom are activists, no surprise) did voices in it: LeVar Burton, Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Asner, James Coburn, Meg Ryan, Tim Curry, John Ratzenberger, Martin Sheen, and Sting.  Man...  Hippie heaven! :B

EDIT:  ..Did I just see "BP" on the side of that ship? >.>
