There is a possibility that the Christian Democratic Party will change side over to they who wants to drill oil :(

The leader of Christian Democratic Party can't promise preservation in forever.
It is not inconsistent to want a change of government and would simultaneously protect Lofoten and Vesterålen. KrF found good solutions with the Conservatives, says Mr. Knut Arild Hareide.
Christian Democratic Party leader Knut Arild Hareide will not have opening areas off Lofoten and Vesterålen till the next four years. But he would rather not promise protection forever.
After Labor's program committee last week that clearly went into the impact of the next parliamentary term, attention is directed toward minor parties, inside and outside government.
The big three – Labor, Conservatives and the Progress Party – are all more or less avowed supporters of drilling, so the question is what the four young can achieve in one or the other block.

It has officially started. Protests against the oil drilling has begun, and it can get more violent, if the gouvernment doesn't take acts as soon as possible.

On the square in Svolvaer in Lofoten, oil opponents "hung" a fisherman. – It is obvious that they have gotten a rage.
The symbolism is not to be mistaken when a fish is "hung" on the square in Svolvaer with oil spills on clothing. Oil Opponents have come out of dormancy.
Now the oil issue caught fire and people are obviously interested in doing something, say local leader Odd Arne Sandberg in the campaign Oil Free Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja.
In Lofotposten get Sandberg and his allies largely "blamed" for having "hung" fisherman.
- But it is not us. It is something which has happened without our having had a hand in it, but I realize that people are provoked and symbolism here is clear, he says.
It is also hung up banners with a clear anti-oil message in several places in Svolvaer. Also at City Hall. But this people's movement will take the blame for.

And it looks like the Labour Party will lose the election this year. At a political gala, most of the people just ignored the Labour Party and even the Prime Minister. Less people is voting and it looks like it will be one of their worst elections, since 1924. This clearly says, it is the oil drilling, the reason mostly everybody hates the Labour Party now.

Feel a bit happy now, but who knows, everything can change.

Hmm, that's not a surprise. To this person I would say: "You failed. You don't do nothing good for your country."

How Lofoten  is vulnerable? Isn't there an exageration from fanatical ecologists? Or are there actual risks of oil spills like it was the case for BP's NorthStar project?

I am never really happy when it comes to new oil exploitation and brings up a whole of new issues. But it is usually very profitable, not only in terms of money, but socially and employment. Many projects can be done through this helping to solve many issues.

I tend to always look for a balanced agreement unless there are unusually high risks of accidents. And I can hardly find neutral studies about this. And I admit it, I know nothing of what's going on in Norway. But this is why I am sceptical by default.

Because that area is extremely rich on fish. Cod is the most popular, and stockfish, where stockfish has it's origin. If there happens oil spill, everything of this will dissapear, the fish will dissapear, and we will lose billions of billions of money, maybe trillions. What about those other countries who is buying fish from us? Then they need to find fish somewhere else.

Ah. The consequences could indeed be quite bad. But is that the only argument though?

Yeah, I thinks so. That is the reason the area is vulnerable, because an oil catastrophy there, can take out the fish market, and if that happens, we will port into a financial crisis :( and perhaps indebted to other countries

Latest news now on the proposed oil drilling in Lofoten, is that nearly 2.5 million people in Norway support the proposal by the Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. 2.5 million, that's about half of Norway's population. Well, let's see the number on international, maybe how many in Europe wants it.

International voices can't count. This is mainly about Norway and only Norwegians can decide.
