European Meet Up
« on: October 04, 2010, 09:35:45 am »
So, I think we should meet up as a continent. What do you all think?

I was thinking around December 20th. People are normally over with stuff, then, and they have a few days before Christmas. Maybe just two days together, somewhere moderately central...

I'm all for it. But I should warn you, we tried this for the summer, it took a century to decide a time and place and in the end not many people showed up. But I hear they had a good time anyway.

The main issues then were traveling costs and permission from parents. That is, apart from picking a time and place, and I think that if you decide on that now, people can start saving up sooner and get their parents used to the idea.

Okay, time to stop being a kill-joy. Honestly, I'd like to give it another try :D

Awesome. So...where?

I'm always down for Edinburgh. But it's going to be darn cold here. Needs to be somewhere near an airport.

I'd like to be able to do this, but I'm not really able to get to anywhere (other than London) so will probably not be able to attend *sadface*. It would be so cool to be able to see more people.

Well, if we're allowed to nominate what's closest to us, I'd say Sweden. What's wrong with some cold? :P My place is about 40 minutes from an airport and there are quite a few hotels here. But I'm ok with the UK too, flights probably wouldn't cost all too much and it'd be fun to go somewhere new.

I forgot, I might be in Copenhagen over new year, alas I doubt I can get transport though (too young to drive) and, I'm not sure the friend I'd be staying with would want to come.

Just for the record, Copenhagen can work out nicely for me, I could visit other people on the way too. But I understand that we can't really impose on your friend there, Kewnya.

Copenhagen works fine for me. I've a very established CouchSurfing profile, so I should be able to grab a place. Probably with one or two of you, as well.

Copenhagen works for me.

On an unrelated note, it's confusing when Taronyu and Le’eylan post next to each other.*

Just saying.

I don't doubt it. It's just that I tend to identify people by their avatars, which at a glance made it look like you had quoted yourself.

But preferably not New Year's Eve, I'm in charge of fireworks here and don't wanna miss that.
