It has come to our attention that the supposed 'artist'  Na'ring Hufwe, has in fact, stolen most of his artwork off of deviantart and posted it under his own name.  After receiving a complaint from an artist, we (the moderators at learnnavi.org) did some cursory research and found that at least 3-4 of the images that were posted were put onto deviantart by others.  Three examples are enough, in my opinion, to assume that whatever else he posted are not his own work. I am confident that with further searching the remainder of his 'work' would be exposed as someone else's.

For example here, and here

As one who has suffered art theft and stolen credit, myself I find this absolutely disgusting and abhorrent. In the real world if one were to do this, they would get their pants sued off. And in most cases, would probably also be completely discredited as an artist, writer, or any other field where original content is created.

Needless to say, Na'ring Hufwe is going to be punished severely, if not banned from Learnnavi.org.

Lessons to be learned :

1. Do not take claim to, or credit for artworks that were created by others.
2. If you post an image that was once someone else's art (for example you colored someone else's linework) Give that person credit, or at least make it clear that it is not your own if original artist is unknown.

Why? - I mean, there's so many people who can't draw, but at least they don't steal?  :-\

Is it just for karma? Or some respect? Respect is something you need to deserve, not steal.  >:(

If there's anyone else who has pictures, artwork, writings, songs and stuff which they just copied and pasted,
please remove it or place the real owner's name/alias with it...

That's not very nice... :(
We learn from our mistakes only if we are made aware of them.
If I make a mistake, please bring it to my attention for karma.

In addition to issues of ethics and responsibility, these days when everything is online and accessible to applications like TinEye,  you are really deluding yourself if you think that nobody will ever find out.   Foolish...

What he now caused is not positive attention and admiration but negative attention and disappointment.

So it is true what our ancestors said: Everything you do comes back to you.
The artists mentioned above are not the only ones from whom he had stolen artworks.
I know at least about one more, look at this one http://portmanangel.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2h9ego which he also claimed to be his own.

Edit:
@PortmanAngel  haha, we just crossed!

Indeed disgusting, shameful as well. Cheating is definitely a coward's way to fame. It'd sad that I can't say that this is the worst I've heard of here. It's good that it's only a very small minority of people that would do this but bad that it happens at all.

Yep should be banned.

Several weeks ago someone I hired to program a bit of code for me stole a custom theme I was making for a client from my FTP and published it on vbulletin.com and vbulletin.org.

After a few emails to the vb team he had his accounts revoked, but the theme was downloaded by several hundred people and now I have to start from scratch again.

Any theft should be dealt with quickly and with meaning.

Man... I had no idea something like this could even possibly happen on here, with everyone being so friendly trustable... :(

I really hate having to throw out most(if not all) respect for someone.   :(

On the bright side, at least any future offenders (hopefully, no more...) will realize what happens. I'm an artist, but I don't think I could even stand any praise I got if I used someone else's work.

Respect is earned, as earlier mentioned. I would rather work up the talent myself to get better or earn the respect than throw away my dignity and claim something like that.

This place is really judgement free, so I really don't see a reason... It just goes to show you...

MaybE we shouldn't dwell on it. It happened, it's over, lesson learned? Don't let it ruin your day.  :D

This is the perfect example why I do not trust "most" people.  Although, on this forum, I have met a lot of trustworthy people, who I now call my friends.    Na'ring Hufwe...  Shame on you.  Ngal ke tsa'e...

Wow.  I really don't know what to say.

I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler personally, but I can sing and I've written lyrics

I can understand the problem.  I'd be really ticked if someone had stolen the lyrics I wrote.
