A while ago I first tried to photomanip myself into an avatar.

It wasn't great, the nose was completely off, the spots didn't line up, the ear was too low, the eyes were wrong and I got the stripes the wrong way round.

Today, I didn't really have much to do but did have a brand new photo of me taken this Monday.

So I photomanipped it in GIMP in a few hours and am much happier with it than with the last.

I need to do some work on the hair and I'm planning to do that at some point (if I get time) but I'm much happier with the rest of
the picture. I look forward to hearing what you think and any suggestions with what to do to improve it (I've still got all the *.xcf's so I don't have to redo it all).

Edit: I just looked at Skxawng's post on the proportions and realised that my eyes are in the wrong place, I'll have to fix that.

Much improved! And kudos to modifying your own eyes instead of copy-pasting from the poster. well done!

Irayo, the eyes are relatively easy. I'd have thought that most people would do their own, all it really is another bit of colourising and warping.

I like this interpretation of the half-Na'vi, half human face too. How it doesn't just shift all in one line, like on the trailer poster, but instead how it shifts gradually.

My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

I'm just following Skxawng doing what he did with Taronyu.

^I must not have seen that one. I might have, but don't remember it. Still, you did a good job.

It's Taronyu's profile pic and the topic is here. It's infinitely better than mine.

It is good, but how many times has Skxawng tried it vs. how many times you've tried?

You'll get better with experience.
