Really liking all of your paintings! They're fantastic :)

Thank you very much - I try always to do my best. At the moment I try to improve the second Neytiri portrait and I try to paint a third with a different facial expression.
I'd love nothing better than to do a great landscape, a jungle scene or a still life, but for such themes I need the personal contact, the view with my own eyes.

I like the paintings that you have done. Keep up the good work!

That's awsome, keep up the good work ;D

I believe it is very nice. You are very artistic. Even without the background, the painting of Neytiri is still very well made. Will you be doing any other characters?
My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

At first thank you - it's always important to get a feedback.
Of course I will try to paint some more portraits. Quaritch is fascinating me. It won't be difficult to make the portrait, because of his charismatic face, but I will try to show something indifferent behind his facade. And I will try to paint Tsu'tey, the proud and fearless warrior.

I had to do a lot of work during the last days, that's why it was quiet here.
But tomorrow I'd like to show you a new Neytiri portrait. The first portrait wasn't good enough, I have to do some changes and maybe I will show the first attempts tomorrow, too.

Tsa'u sevin lu nìtxan!
That is very pretty!

What technique did you utilize when painting? It's a very cool effect!

Good luck! I can't wait to see them

Yeah, what type of technique do you use. I read before that you scetch the person; do you paint it from that or on that? Also, where did you learn to paint like that? Did you take classes, practice, both, etc?

If you don't feel comfortable or don't want to tell me, it's fine. It might be your own personnel way that is meaniful to you, and I don't want to "force" it out of you. I just wanted to say this, just in case.

The images are not sufficient, because the white parts are reflecting very strong - sorry! And of course both paintings are not finished.

@ Hawnu-yu Eywa-yä: No problem - there are no secrets! I 'm painting with oil on canvas using different, thin glaces. The first glaces are to prepare the later painting - the composition, the cold and the warm parts, the shadows. The following glaces are step by step more detailed - and I can correct the mistakes. It's a little bit like in "The girl with the pearl earring" with Colin Firth as Vermeer (but Vermeer was really a painter, I'm only trying).
This way is hard, because every new step can be false, but at the end you'll get a very "deep" painting, because all the glaces are reflecting the light in different ways.

I had courses as a young guy to prepare for studying at an art college. But than I studied art history, not painting. Today I'm painting for myself - and of course for the people, who like my work, but not for money (mostly). I think, it was the right way.

Kaltxi, irayo for the information. You are very talented in painting these characters. Good luck with it and Eywa ngahu
