I think it's a little bit entertaining to know that no one's really going to draw and paint (etc.) a REALLY similar picture to what's on the screen, thanks to CGI and the like.  However, I'm more interested in seeing how others draw Neytiri in their own style, rather than try to replicate what's on the screen.

I know some very serious artists.  I would love to see them do something a bit out side the box.

The concept art made her look even more alien, which would have been even cooler, but I think it was a hard sell for fox...  Maybe if they go bald, the queue takes on that wavy glowing Medusa look.

You mean the concept art for the movie? Where can I see it?

There have been pics floating around the web since before the movie came out.

Try searching on google.

There are some cached thumbnails, but the larger ones have started to vanish.

After my first time watching it I kept thinking all night "I wish Pandora was a real world."

I'm 18, and I'm acting very childish right now haha. I also said "when I die, I'm going to hope I go to Eywa."

Ahhhhhh

I've been (and partially am) there. Which is why I want to learn Na'Vi, as sort of a compensation for it not being real.

Here's to not knowing exactly what you're saying and having fun with it.

Aw man you took the words right out of my mouth.

I almost don't like the fact that the movie was able to suck me in so well! Because when it is over, we realize it is not real and the only
thing left in our minds is "what if?" :)

It's an addictive feeling, isn't it?  You watch the movie, and you truly feel there, and once it's over, the "high" ends.

I think that a lot of us felt that, whether we admit it or not.  I did, that's for sure. ;)  And maybe that might be a bad thing, or a good thing: it all depends on how we handle it.

I can imagine that it will happen that way for me, after I watch it a fifth or a sixth time.

But maybe not.

I think it would be really cool if a lot of people learned Na'vi. So many that no one really would really make fun of people who knew it. Imagine how close you would feel to a random stranger if you found out that both of you were fluent in Na'vi and could have a casual conversation with each other. ;D

Grammar nazi alert!

First, hu is not a verb so you can't shove <ei> into it.  Speak is plltxe not pllte.  I'm not sure what lì'u is doing in that sentence at all.

Eywa ayngahu, frapo nìNa'vi paylltxeie...
Eywa be with you, everyone will speak in Na'vi...

Irayo omängum fra'uti!

I have been trying to translate that for about 30 minutes. Not because of the grammar, but because I am still an 'eveng in Na'vi.

I hope to learn quickly but today is my first day. ;)

Is there a specific exclusion for adjectives, or is that just the current assertion?

even though it sounds kind of weird, you can't help but find her attractive. when i watch movies i try to think as if i'm part of the movie. like i'm feeling what they're feeling, and so forth (which is why horror films involving decapitation make me feel horrible). but as i was trying to say if i was a Na'vi, i'd find her attractive.

maybe that's just me..

Don't worry, it's not just you. Haha ;)

That's a relief :D

This really sucks as well because Avatar totally ruined my schedule. I was supposed to be doing Insanity 60 days but I have failed today because of work and fanaticism of the Na'vi.

After my first time watching it I kept thinking all night "I wish Pandora was a real world."

I'm 18, and I'm acting very childish right now haha. I also said "when I die, I'm going to hope I go to Eywa."

Ahhhhhh

I keep telling myself...if they discover Pandora within the next 10 years and develop space travel to get there in 30, I could still go and only be middle aged!  I feel the same way, almost like an 'eveng.  One thing is for sure though, I've been trying to live a more Na'vi lifestyle by keeping things simple, taking only what I need and being thankful for those things that give themselves up to Eywa for me.  When I return my borrowed energy, it's going to Eywa :D

It would be so awesome if we really could go there!
Since I saw the movie I am a bit depressed, because Pandora an the Na'vi aren't real.
I mean.. I see our planet: Gray, dirty, and full of hate, war and humans hurting eachother.

The I see Pandora: So many different colors, everything is natural, everyone lives in harmony with Eywa - just beautiful!

Neytiri looks very human, doesn't really surprise me that she has so many fans and r͔͙̬̰̱̼̫̍̒̎͆͂́̍ͨͦ̀͞u̿̂ͫͣ͑̃͑ͧ̔҉̛͓͓͓l͎̘͓̬̜͙̘̘͔ͨ̿͛ͭ̌̎ͯ̉̈́e͉̞͈ͪͭ̓ͭ́3̲͉̰̺͈͍̣ͪͤ̆͗ͪͦ̇ͅ4̧̥̰̹̬̪̂̃̉ͤ̇!
She's very beautiful in my opinion.

Fya'o Tskoyä

Neytiri IS attractive, and to be honest there is no shame in that fact. She is based off a real woman who is infact very attractive. Not to mention. the universe is so vast i have no doubt there are planets just like Pandora, if not several, hell maybe even people just LIKE the Na'vi. we will never know because we are FAR from being advanced like the movie. However movies are amazing things like that. Letting us live in our imagination and wish for something better

Eywaya ngahu, Aysmukan ulte Aysmuke

Eyamsiyu

In an alternate dimension, there are Na'vi that are now extremely advanced, looking at our world several years in the past, wishing they were here...  it's possible.
