Well now I've run into a problem. My aunt, who's really artsy and buys a lot of stuff online, has offered to buy me as many canvases as I want in order to put them on my walls. But that would mean taking the cardboard down and starting all over again. However, I was doing some sketches yesterday evening and I think that I have run into a composition problem. That and I want to expand the overall size of the painting. The cardboard stops at roughly 2 feet from the ceiling, and I was kinda hoping that I could make it floor-to-ceiling. So should I stop before I get too far into the foreground, where all the super-hard work is going to be done and start working with the canvas, or should I just move the cardboard up and keep working with it, adding more cardboard when I want to expand? I'm thinking that the canvases will compromise my space by protruding into the room, and they're heavy and I'd have to put nails in my wall. Plus, with the composition I have going now, I'd have to paint over Iknimaya, and I spent three days on them. I do have pictures of them, though, so it wouldn't be like I was losing them forever. I mean if I really wanted to, I could put some cardboard on my western wall and paint them there.

Your thoughts?

soo you're gonna start it all again?
if it's worth it, it's no problem :) I mean if you do it to make a better one.. it's a great idea :)
yes it will mean you don't need to old one anymore.. but it's still there.. or will you destroy it? :O
anyway, @Rain: you draw your own profile picture? because if yes, it's soo awesome! :) I like it,, you don't copy the pose from another pic and it's plain awesome :)

Thanks but I found it on DeviantART, lol. It was one of the more original ones I have seen.

I have decided to keep working on the cardboard. Even though most serious artists won't touch it, I find it inexpensive and a lot lighter. With canvases, I'd have to drive nails into the wall and the drywall is too old for that. If my aunt does get me canvas, maybe I'll do other stuff. Plus I like how the cardboard is more flush with the wallwhen I tape it down. I'm learning moderation when it comes to paintings. I have a tendency to get overexcited and I want to do so much at once that I get overwhelmed. So really this painting is a lesson in patience and planning.

Oh, there's an updated pic on my deviantART account, just click the link below ;D

Ahh right. Yea sometimes the inexpensive is better too :) ohh right.. Yes its very original and awesome :) (tho u might consider giving the link below it to credit the author :P) umm you might also consider turning ur room more 'Pandora' using bioluminescent light or sth (or u can use glow in the dark stuff) then maybe vines? Like u know those drape-like stuff.. (Uhh I can't turn my room to Pandora so I'm trying to get someone else make it >< I'm so desperate right? I know).. Umm I can't see the link for I'm on mobile, so Ill check on it later :)

Haha I'm way ahead of you, Alahe! I'm waiting for a greenery sale at the craft store and I already have a few tubes of flourescent and Glow paint. Also, thinking about buying some mosquito netting to attach to the ceiling as moss. I've always wanted a "forest" room, and I guess Avatar was just the catalyst I needed. As far as GITD paint goes, I already have 18 Atokirina on my bedroom walls and they make fantastic night-lights! I just leave my light on for ten minutes before I go to bed so they can charge, and they glow for about 20 minutes. The only problem is that I can't seem to take any pictures of what my room looks like in the dark :(

Did I say DeviantART? I meant Google Image search :P sowwy. But I'm waiting on someone to Na'vitize a pic of me, and the profile pic I have now is just a temp. I may get antsy and Photoshop myself, in the end. ;)

In the end, I hope the overall effect is at least a fifteenth as cool as the movie.

This poster would like to thank everyone who has been following her progress so far. Irayo, ma aysmuk, ulte Eywa fyawintxu.

Personally, I do like the colour blue and all, but I'm less into "turning into" a Na'vi and more into "trying to live an Earth-friendly lifestyle". Not to shoot you down, but I don't think I'd want to be modified genetically. I am, however, all for Na'vi cosplay for various reasons. My true dream is to become a more "perfect" (physically, as in getting into shape, because I've got more "me" than I actually want, which is best translated into "I'm too fat" lol) human. I think that the "perfect human" is one who lives up to the full potential of the physical body according to their genetics. It's my fault that I'm in the shape I'm in, and it's a hard battle to break those bad habits. Hopefully it'll get easier over the summer, though. Really, I have too many things that I want to be, but by attaining what I beleive to be a "perfect" body, I can live up to them, even if only by donning a bodysuit (A blue one for Na'vi, a grey one for werewolf, and so on). Avatar has given me the kick in the pants I needed to really decide to get in shape, even if I don't go and live with the permtribe.

Thanks again for everyone's comments; criticism would be appreciated if something about the painting bugs you.

lol that's not what I mean either.. just the photoshop-ing I mean..
I dunno what to say about turning into a real Na'vi either. but yea, I wanna be healthier and more earth-friendly.. :)

Oh! See, I'd just finished reading a bodymod thread and I guess I got my signals crossed. But yeah, I'd like to have a pic of me Na'vitized (and made to look a little skinnier too, lol!). I've already done cornrows to my hair and it looked okay, though I should probably take my time next time (and my hair happens to be very fine so it takes more hair to make each braid).

No updated pics today, sorries :-[

I think it has something to do with each person having their own interpretation. What you see is not always what another person would see.

As it is morning, I don't have an update yet but as soon as I get my homework done (As I promised my parents :P) I'll get busy. My aunt took me shopping on Friday and bought me all the paint I was running low on and some brush cleaner/restorer. I should be good to go in about an hour and a half ;D
