Hey! I haven't heard from you--have you been trying to send messages that I'm not getting? Well, I'm still around =) I do check the forums lots, though I'm not on Skype a lot these days. We can set up a time to meet on Skype, though, if you want. My email address is the easiest way to reach me =)

And I'm looking forward to hearing the progress on everyone's projects!

Kaltxi!

I have been absent from the boards for about a week but I wanted to chime in on this thread again. The more I listen to your song the more I like it. I really love the double drum sequence intro, I'm really feeling a Na'vi tribal setting with that. How is the work coming on the added vocals and extended version? Me want! :)

Awesome! I think this is really great all it needs is some choir singing in Na'vi and it would be perfect!

I'll record a single woman's voice, and tweak it so I have a choir, or keep it solo.
But I need lines, people!

I can hear where you added the edit and I like it. :)

So do you want people just throwing out lyric ideas? I just listened to the two edits back to back (to back to back) and I have some ideas rolling around for the chorus. I love to write poetry and if you ask me lyrics is just poetry set to music. I could certainly throw some ideas at you. ;)

Ok, you asked for it. ;) Please take these as only suggestions. Wherever your creativity takes you is a good place.

First off I want to say the feel I get from the song because for me that guides what I envision the lyrics talking about. The song, IMO, is a sort of 'traveling/reflecting' song. The strong beats remind me of someone who has a long way to go and needs to be filled with energy and motivation. The few quiet/calm parts of the song are a little bit of the feelings of the people the traveler is leaving and a bit of the sorrow they feel. They are supportive but they are still sad that he/she may not return.

Also, this is a simple song, almost like a marching song from the military (at least how they are portrayed in movies, I've never been in the military). It is meant to be straight forward and motivating to keep you going, even when things look bleak.

That being said, I think the main violin repetitions would work great as the chorus, and the words being "Eywa ngahu". If you hold the ending of "Eywa" to match the first note of the violin it fits really well. Because the violin sequence is repeated three (maybe four) times, it makes for a strong link to the theme. The new middle edit you have which starts at about 0:54 is a great place for the most sorrowful piece, perhaps the departing of the traveler from those close to him/her, which is then followed by a strong re-affirmation (via a load chorus section) of Eywa being with the traveler.

I'll keep playing the 4th version over the next few days and see if inspiration hits me to write up some more lyrics. Again, to me this is a simple song and will likely have simple words to carry it.

Kaltxi!

I just wanted to chirp in an say I haven't gotten to work on the lyrics like I wanted to this last week. It was a school and work conspiracy. I'll get to it over the next week and try to get something down. I'll probably start with lyrics in English and post them, then head over to the beginner/intermediate forums for help translating them.

To be honest, I've kind of given up on it. It was made with samples, so I'm finding it hard to really appreciate it now, since I can't really edit it or call it my own. Also, since making it my computer's been stolen, so I no longer have it on the puter here.
Still, thanks a lot for the support.
