Na'vi Music - EDM style
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:22:50 pm »
Well, I read somewhere that someone said the Na'vi music would make an awesome EDM song, so give me some time and i'll put something up here. DJ'ing and production is what i do for work, so i hope i can put something together that you will like. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so it wont be in the next day, but ill do my best. Without a remix pack i'll probably have to chop from the original soundtrack, but we'll see.

I use the name Dean Moss when i play, currently tying to pick up residency at one of local clubs in LA. I spin trance and progressive. My home setup is 2 Pioneer CJD 1000 MK 3, and 2 800 MK 2 with a DJM 800 4 channel mixer. For production i use Ableton Live 7 with Nexus 2.2 as my primary ROM, and Sylenth and Omnisphere as my Synths, dabbling in Traktor learning to make my own synths.

Originally tried to PM this to you, and it may have sent, but i might as well just post it here anyways.

And here I am trying to learn Na'vi while not even able to understand English o.O
I did not understand anything of that.... but as I am not familiar with Dj-terminology I guess thats alright :)

I didn't get too much either, but from what it sounds like, he's got some really good (and expensive) gear there.

Yeah, the gear was top of the line not too long ago, and still better than most clubs that don't upgrade their gear regularly. Now its just about using it all to its full potential. But im getting there, im still new in the production area, but you can check out my remix of Jakes first flight in the other thread. Current version was 0.3 when i was writing this, but working on 0.4 as we speak with the current feedback.

Not at all, i would be happy to have some others working on music :D my actual goal is to get a couple people working on music, and then upload them to the site, get a little flash based music player and a bunch of different Na'vi inspired songs in it so that people can listen to original pieces made by members while they are here. Please join in!

Cool. I'm actually a producer/ songwriter of Industrial and Electronic music in a band Heresy Theory, so it might be interesting to see what happens.

Awesome, yeah, give it a shot. Put your own spin on Na'vi music :D i do trance and progressive, so my songs will have that feel to them, im very interested in what a more industrial/electronic sound adds to it.

Just makes me think of some of the works from Mr. Hahn...

Glad to see there is an interest for the music here in our small community :D If/when we have a good collection of songs we can probably push for a community music player to be added in so that if you choose you can listen to music while your browsing.
