Hell's Gate

The shuttle touches down, the passengers cross to their entrance at a run, there is only one vehicle, a fork lift truck, then the cargo is unloaded and taken to a warehouse. inside of warehouse, the forklift brings a well wrapped bulky lumpy pallet of something the driver bangs it down with out much care and speeds back to the shuttle, at ground level, looking under the pallet, a small stick appears bellow the level of the cargo, a 2x2 screen in the near darkness shows the p.o.v. of the end of the stick, clearly a camera. In the bay are several pallets with loads all similarly wrapped but is empty of people, someone whose face we don't see emerges from the pallet, wanders off non-challently finds a hand cart and returns to the pallet. Takes out two tool boxes and the canister, wheels them to the airlock into the main body of the Hells Gate complex. At the server room someone wheels a hand cart carrying a canister and two tool boxes, we do not see their face. They take out of a pocket a 2x2 screen and some leads, and from another a home made box. They are connected and after opening the secure access control panel these are hooked up to the board in the back of it. The person uses it to open the door, but the screen on the panel states the door is still closed. The person un-hooks box and screen, closes the pannel, and wheels in the hand cart. They open an access cover from what is clearly the main sever, again the screen and home made box combo is hooked up, a small board is then slipped out of its slot, a package is taken from one of the tool boxes, as is what looks like a slim line TV remote, but with no buttons. The TV remote type thing is swiped across the removed boards serial no.
The package is opened it contains a board identical looking to the removed one, except the serial number is blank, the removed board is slipped into the package. The TV remote looking device is moved across the blank serial no. label, writing the same serial as it moves. the new board is inserted into the slot, and the old board in the pack and the definitely not a TV remote are slipped back into the tool box, takes out a war head from one of the many missiles that where put into space earlier, this one has been modified, it has a timer and remote detonator attached, person takes from a pocket a wafer thin remote, presses one button, on a small screen on the detonator a count down starts, presses it again it stops presses another button the counter resets. The person inserts this under the server, it's a tight squeeze.
person crosses to the view screen, looks at the corridor, empty, looks at several other corridors all empty. Person takes out a security access tag, the door opens, the screen still says it is closed. They leave wheeling the hand cart. In the corridor they look at the black device on their wrist, and wheel the hand cart purpose fully away, the camera follows.
They come to a T junction, with a door opposite the corridor the person has approached from. This whole wall is stained and was evidently once an outside wall, security tag opens the door and again the screen lies and says the door is still closed, inside there are no lights on, the glow from the inside door security panel is the only illumination. The person takes out a flashlight and enters, after a short distance a side turning has a sheer drop, from the marks on the walls there had been steps here once, but were removed at some point, a cord is taken from one of the tool boxes, which is tied to a tool box with a slip knot, it is lowered down to the floor below, the second tool box has the same done to it, as do the canister and the hand cart. The person ties the cord more permanently to a pipe stump a short distance from the not steps, and they hand over hand down. Hand cart reloaded they again head off guided by the wrist device. After a while the come to a mens room, some one wrote "Beware of the Thanator" on it long, long ago. the door swings open easily enough revealing a semi dereliction, one of the two cubicles has a door the is closed, the other hanging off, in this cubicle is a filing cabinet a draw is out and on its side on top, the flashlight lingers on this and pauses on the bottom draw. The light patch moves away, across the rest of the room, the urinals are gone, so too the basins. The end wall is an unremarkable bare cement, stained and ancient looking. To the canister "Lets find you your new home. Before you start talking to your self." then adds, mostly to the cement wall "Too late." they remove from a tool box a glove, this they now put on, they wave the gloved hand over the surface of the wall, sweeping back and forth. They stop, move the hand back slowly then stop. They tap something into the wrist device, part of the wall becomes translucent, revealing the entrance to a large niche, in the niche are piles of artifacts, a large stone table and another canister, this one has brighter metal end caps, but an overall very slightly melted look. The tool boxes and the arriving canister are unloaded from the hand cart. Tool boxes onto the table, canister, nearly put next to the one already present, nearly placed at the other end of the table, then placed next to the other canister. Person looks down at the canisters, turns away, hesitates, turns back addresses the melted looking canister,
"Should have checked your life support." starts to turn away but turns back, rocks the canister with a foot and adds "Skawng!"
They take from one of the tool boxes a well filled bag, and from the other the 'not a TV remote' holds it above the table and strokes it across, something that materializes, an arrow head, like the ones Na'vi use, yet absolutely nothing like the ones Na'vi use. A piece of leather taken from the tool box now has the arrow head placed in it's center. The process is repeated.
Cross fade to a large pile on the leather, which is then folded into almost a bag.
The person takes this and the other bag, goes to leave, then returns for the flash light and the arrowhead making TV remote, stands in the mens room again, taps on the wrist device the cement wall becomes solid once more. Leaving, the flashlight plays over the filing cabinet,  again coming rest on the bottom draw, lingering for fully 5 seconds, a hand opens the draw, it is empty. They return to the missing stairs, climb the cord, untie it from the pipe stump and pocket it. At the door they hesitate with the tag poised to open the door, there is no way to know if someone else is in the corridor outside this door.
Person sighs, swipes the tag and chances it. Outside, in the corridor, people are nowhere to be seen.
The canister hider uses the nearby airlock, and exits Hells Gate.
Outside is a bone yard of discarded items, (several used and part stripped Avatar transport amino tanks, and whole heaps of other discarded tech' and junk), to the double fence. A section of the inner is loose, and the outer has a badly patched hole in it, the perimeter guns are down, as are the cameras, so the person slips away unnoticed and unchallenged.
They head into the forrest for some distance before finding what they are looking for, a hole in a tree, folded clothes are put in the hole, then shoes, sound of deep inhale pause deep exhale, exopack into the hole. Sound of deep inhale. We see the back of a naked Na'vi, by the tree hole "Urgh," spits out gum "that's fricking vile,"
Close up of the exopack in the hole in the tree, gum being parked it on the visor, the hand is Na'vi, not enough fingers to be an avatar and the spots are also correct for a real Na'vi. Spits out a lot for some time, in english "no more gum for a while." spits some more.
The now small looking bag gives up a loin cloth and beads. The now empty bag is stashed in the hole. the camera stays looking at it, sounds of the loincloth and beads being put on. Now looking every bit a genuine Na'vi from the back, except for the device still clinging to the wrist.
"Narvee, Navee" sighs "Na'vi." Takes a small hand mirror, we see only their eyes reflected "Oel ngatu kameie." pause, places mirror back in tree hole. Then says with poignancy "Eywa ohehu."
The now Na'vi walks away into the forrest, adjusting the loincloth at the back, below the tail as he walks. Then reaches round behind and takes hold of the base of the tail gently "Kxetse."

13 Forrest
A group of troops plus the new corporate douche bag, a couple of other civilians and avatar Hegner (Hegner is the only avatar present), approach the new home tree, at the outer columns they find warriors with bows and arrows blocking their path, keen to avoid blood shed at this stage the group halt.
New Douche to Hegner "You're up."
Hegner moves to the front, in Na'vi, 'Hello brothers and sisters.'
Warrior 1 in slightly accented english "Hello Hegner, long time no see"
Hegner, looks at him for a full 3 second before recognizing him, still in Na'vi, 'Hello ____, I did not recognize the boy I knew in the warrior I see before me. It has been a long time.'
Warrior 1 still in english "18 years, I have a daughter of my own now."
New Douche "I really hate to break up the reunion, but we came here for a reason."
Warrior 1 looks at New Douche the same way a human might look at something they really really wished they hadn't just stepped in.
Human 2 starting with confidence "Take us to your leader."
He trails off a little toward the end as he realizes what is saying. The humans and Hegner wince slightly and roll eyes at this. A few give him looks. The cultural significance is not lost on the Na'vi, Warrior 1 and 2 smile slightly and give each other knowing looks.  
Warrior 2, "Hegner may enter, the others may remain here."
Hegner and Warrior 1 disapear into the interior, catching up on 18 years of Na'vi gossip, Hegner in Na'vi, Warrior 1 mostly in english, lots of laughing.

Tsu'tey, Mo'at, Neytiri, Jakesully, avatar Norm, a couple more Na'vi and another, unnamed avatar are deep in conversation, seated on the ground, and eating teylu from a large common leaf in the centre of the group.
Entire conversation held in Na'vi, except for the english word 'savage'
Unnamed Avatar "... which is my point entirly"
Unnamed Na'vi elder, "How much savage do you want in your high tech life, do you purely want to study from the sky persons point of view?"
Avatar "Who said savage, I never said savage, that's just not what I see when I am with Na'vi, never has been."
Norm "We came to learn."
Second Na'vi elder "Perhaps you did, but the new arrivals? What do they want? Peaceful co-existance?"
Jakesully "We're loosing the point here."
Tsu'tey "If you want to become one of the Omatikaya, you can become one of the Omatikaya. If you wish to be a human researcher, that's fine too, but I don't see how you can be one of the clan, and stay an objective, independent outside observer"

Hegner and Warrior 1 approach,
Warrior 1 in english "I have taken you to our leaders." in Na'vi "Tsu'tey Olo'eyktan, Mo'at Tsahìk"
The seated group rises and those not already facing the 2 turn to do so.
Hegner is surprised, in Na'vi "I see you Tsu'tey, forgive me, I was told you were killed in the war, and that Jake Sully was chief"
Tsu'tey in english "Then you were misinformed, Hegner."
Hegner "I am sent here to give you a message," he dries up, looking between Tsu'tey and Jake, unsure if Olo'eyktan out ranks Toruk makto, or the other way round.
Jakesully spots this and to prevent any misunderstanding takes up a position beside and slightly behind Tsu'tey, looks Hegner in the eye and says in Na'vi "Tsu'tey is chief, where he leads, we follow." Jakesully shifts his gaze to Tsu'tey.
Hegner looks at Tsu'tey and continues, again in Na'vi "The sky people can not forgive what Selfridge and Quaritch have done here, they will be punished appropriately"
Jakesully interrupts in english "Quaritch is dead."
The rest of the conversation continues in english.
Avatar, awkwardly "Yeah, about that." his tone of voice that shows he's finished, with out further explanation.
Mo'at turns to the unnamed avatar and says slowly, with authority "About that... what?"
Avatar "You know he did 3 tours in Nigeria?"
General Mmm's and yeses from the group.
Avatar "He didn't, he was gunned down 3 days after retuning from the second. Problem was, they'd really bigged up how he was some sort of, invulnerable super war hero guy, to raise public moral and persuade kids to enlist. Two tours without a scratch, they made him the main part of the PR strategy, they'd spent too much time, effort and cash on his image as virtually immortal to cope with his dying like that. So, they cloned him from his DNA. The third tour was to buy time. You know his autobiography 'Miles Quaritch: My life thru My eyes'? That started out as part of the programming software, sold so well it paid for the whole damn party."
All still looking at him, he sighs
"My first job after qualifying was at the lab where they did it, it was supposed to be need-to-know stuff, but things leak out.
All still looking at him.
"That's it."
Mo'at "Just when I thought I had you humans figured out."
Avatar "Sorry you were saying?"
All look at Hegner
Hegner "Bottom line is, the humans want to come back, if you say yes they'll keep to the old mine site"
Norm "Until its exhausted. 4, maybe 5 years, max"
Hegner "and if you say no, they brought nukes, they were real careful to make sure I saw them, being loaded, and in the hold, sixteen of them.
Norm, casually "We're screwed."
Jakesully "Any idea of the yield."
Hegner  "No, but more than enough to exterminate all life on this continent, and totally vaporize the entire forrest"
Norm, casually "We are so screwed."
Hegner looks at Norm "Perhaps, but perhaps not, I was carefully not told, but I over heard enough to know we had a stowaway."
Jakesully "Where'd they find the body?"
Hegner "They didn't. They did find an escape pod's missing. The aft emergency airlock doors were worn out too, they're not engineered for regular use. Apparently the outer hatch is no longer airtight, and the inner has new hinges. At least 50 tons of cargo was ditched while we were in cryo. Odd bits from one of the shuttles are gone which made no sense. A load of real delicate stuff was found in the trash compacter, and the onboard stereo lithography plant is gone too."
Jakesully "And the nukes?"
Hegner "Not sure, I did catch one of the crew telling [New Douche] and the Captain that, all sixteen of something, where now just nicely painted casings. But I don't know for sure it was the nukes he was talking about. On the other hand, why dump all the other stuff and leave the nukes. Oh, every firing pin from every weapon is gone.
Avatar "Someone was busy."
Norm "What did they do for food, for nearly six years?"
Hegner "Pass, no one seems to have an answer to that one. Or for how they wiped all the ships sensor logs, or the security camera footage.
They reprogrammed the crew and passengers to revive at the simultaneously, after we were in orbit, but they made a mistake, my cryo unit  partner and I woke 6 minutes before everyone else, before the lights and heating kicked in. Did you know the crew call us talking freight?"
Jakesully "I did."
Mo'at thoughtfully "A mistake? I wouldn't be so quick to make assumptions."
Pause in the conversation.
Hegner "I also have a message for Jake from someone on earth."
Jakesully "Helen?"
Hegner "Not unless 'Helen' is a fifty something guy, who hasn't shaved in a week."
Jakesully almost laughing "Not unless she's really let herself go."
Norm "Who's Helen?"
Neytiri doesn't shift gaze, just cocks her head slightly toward Norm and says in a casual mater of fact way
"Jake's Ex."
Norm looks at her in surprise, goes to say something then changes him mind.
Hegner "I was on a maglev platform, there was a news item about the war here, mostly blatant propaganda. Apparently it's all personally Jakes fault. It finished just as I boarded, this guy in the crowd says to every one and no one, 'I've got a message for Jake Sully...' I'm thinking here we go, and hoping he didn't clock me. Then he turns, looks me strait in the eye. and adds 'he MUST visit the outcast.' the doors closed before I could react. I never saw him again."
Jakesully "Who is the outcast?"
Norm "Someone from ancient Na'vi folklore. "Norm turns to Mo'at "Was the Outcast ever a real person?"
Mo'at "Yes, real, I met him once, when I was a little girl."
All look at Mo'at, the Na'vi members of the group are genuinly shocked.
Neytiri "And you never told anyone? Not even me."
Mo'at a little ashamed "No." pause then carries on with some reluctance at first, but confidence grows to it's normal level "Some of us were collecting fruit, I had gone off further than I should and got lost, Some one saved me from a Palulukan. He fired an arrow with a tip like I've never seen before or since, I still don't know what it was, but it made Palulukan scream, leap about 20 feet in the air, when he came down it felt like the whole world shook. He ran away so fast. The stranger laughed, told me I was safe now, he had a quiver with many arrows in. He looked and sounded Na'vi, but I could tell there was something different. Then I saw the tips of the arrows he held on his bow, Outcasts arrow tips, he knew I knew who he was, and just laughed again, 'Yes, I am.' he told me, I ask him if he really was the best hunter in the forrest, he just smiled at me and said we should go back to hometree. We talked, mostly I talked, he said that I should never tell any one I had met the outcast, that I had found my way home on my own with out any help and that most important I should never say what happened to thanator. When we got near to home tree he stopped, I asked him if was coming in as I was sure mother would want to thank him. He sat down and said 'I am the outcast, I can never go inside'. I glance at my home tree, no more than a glance, when I look back he was gone. He was sitting next to me, 50 feet at least to the tree line, no where he could hide, he was just not there anymore."
Mo'at looks up and is aware that every one is following her every word with even more focus that normal, she waves dismissively and sighs.
Jakesully "So how do I find this guy?"
Na'vi Elder 2 "Normally, you don't."
Mo'at "I was up near the edge of the Iknimaya, when he found me."
Jakesully "Well if it's important, I better go look for him."

Edit: It would be 18 years since Hegner left Pandora, not 14, my bad.

Here's scene 14, should answer a few questions, and raise a few more!

A guy in an amp suit is shooting up the forest, plants, animals, anything, he's loving it. In the distance he see a Na'vi who is taking a leak, they are back to the amp suit guy, amp suits moves in for the kill. Close up of the back of the Na'vi head (who appears oblivious), trigger pulled, click, nothing. 'Leak' stops, strange sucking/glugging noises, the Na'vi raises their head, in Na'vi "I'm going to enjoy this." turns round, we see them from the chest down. They are holding a large bottle of water with a sport cap, upside down to simulate them having a leak. On the left wrist is a black device. They drop the bottle and leap forward.

At the badly patched hole in Hell's Gate's fence, we see the back of the Na'vi now with a small gash on left side of his head. Gripping the amp suit guy round the back of the neck, and with the 'not a tv remote' stuck in his back. The amp suit guy is marched across the bone yard and into the airlock, his face pushed gently, but firmly in to the corner. There is a hiss as the air changes.
Amp suit guy "You can't breath our air, We can't breath yours and you can't breath ours." in a way that surgests that he has won, and is bored now.
His head is pulled out of the corner and held so he can see the reflection in the porthole window. He stares at it in disbelief
We see just enough in the reflection to see that this is not a Na'vi now but a human. A red light near the door goes green "You can take off your exopack now."
Amp suit guy does so cautiously, with a face like he's seen a ghost.
He is marched across the complex, past Hegner who looks stunned, this is the man who gave him the message he's just given Jake, Now dressed in a loincloth and beads, complete and, except for the black device on his wrist, mostly pretty authentic Na'vi costume, which looks a little too large for a human. We see for the first time this is the cleaner (who isn't) he nods and half smiles, in casual but deliberate way to acknowledge Hegner. Hegner goes to speak, but is speechless.

At the administrator's office, the door is open, Hurwitz is stickering it up with a new name.
The new Douche bag, the chief engineer, and a huge black guy in camouflage and a baseball cap with embroidered gold oak leaves. All sitting around the desk, on the desk are the old, worn out and broken pieces of the aft emergency airlock inner hatch hinges.
Mitch, Promethius's first officer, walks in to the office, with 3 copies of a typed report, he hands these around.
New douche "So Mitch, what does it say, in a nutshell?"
Mitch "There's a full list of everything that's gone or destroyed, plus a full page report on the new hinges."
New douche "Go on."
Mitch "If you wanted a verbal briefing, why did you ask for a written report?"
New douche "Humor me."
Mitch. "OK. Four months into the voyage, around half way into the acceleration phase, there is an 8 week window of opportunity to dump stuff out the back door, sooner than that and Earth will spot it, after that and there's a risk it'll join us before we leave for earth. There was a little over 50 tons of freight dumped, much more and it would have messed up the deceleration phase, so who ever did this was either very well researched, or just plain lucky."
Huge black guy to Mitch "Given what they pulled off, I doubt luck had much to do with it. The whole operation must have been meticulously planned and researched, and I have to say, flawlessly executed."
New douche to Mitch "I'd have to agree with Magnus on that."
Chief Engineer "Ditto"
Mitch "What I still don't understand is why. Ditch all that into deep space, leave us with no missiles, no working amp's, aircraft, or guns, throw out all the ammunition to be doubly sure, and just to be on the safe side, they implant these into every gun on board."
Mitch places a small box, half an inch square, by three sixteenths deep, with wires coming out of one side, and continues.
"A remote control, so at the touch of a button the guns that we made new firing pins and fresh ammunition for, stop working. Lucky we spotted it, it was well hidden. They trashed the machine shop, the Lithography plant is gone too. But not before fixing the airlock. Fricking nice job they made of it too, machined up new titanium hinges with roller bearings pressed in, titanium reinforcing plates, inside and out. Even lined up all the bolt heads, painted it pretty too, real thorough. Then dicks around in one of the shuttles removing stupid stuff, makes no sense."
New douche "What about the..." hesitates, flicks a glance an Hurwitz, still working on the stickers, clearly not experienced, but carefully making a good job of it.
"...you know what's,"
Mitch "Filleted all 16, stripped out everything, even the pipe clamps and cable clips, even the tags with the fricking serial numbers. Again real thorough. And cook says none of the food has been touched. Arrow proof body armor is gone too, but they did leave us the body bags."
Chief Engineer "Do they want us to fight this war and loose?"
Magnus "What did the cameras pick up?"
Mitch "Nothing, the Camera files and the sensor logs were wiped, we did find where they were hiding. There's a void behind the electronics suite, its awkwardly shaped, but plenty enough room for someone to hide, but not comfortably. Gave them access to hack the systems and not be monitored.
Chief Engineer "So who or what where they? No human could live 6 years without food or water. Narvee couldn't either."
Mitch "Pass, and with out the right clothing they'd freeze, the ship maintains minus 30 Celsius. Just enough to stop cold brittleness being a issue, without bleeding too much power from the main engines."
Magnus "Android?"
Chief Engineer "I wondered about that, but it doesn't quite fit with the shuttle. Android would do it properly, or not at all."
Mitch "Agreed."
New douche "Maybe there's a malcontent in maintenance."
Magnus with a subtle hint of sarcasm "Or maybe it's been infiltrated by the Pandoran liberation front." Sarcasm dropped "This speculation is getting us nowhere."
New douche to Magnus "Please tell me you just made them up."
There is disturbance as the cleaner (who isn't) comes into the control room with his captive, he walks to the door of the administrators office, but doesn't enter.
Cleaner (Who isn't) "Let's be clear on this. I do not want to find any more of your jack asses shooting up my forrest."
Pushes the captive amp suit guy away so hard he ends up on floor. The four are stunned.
Cleaner turns and sees the cut in the reflection of the door, and mutters some thing that sounds like 'mode change failure'.
Heading for the outside door the cleaner takes a tissue from handy placed box, wipes blood away, uses outside door, which clangs shut behind. Cleaner is out of sight for a moment, but the person who walks along the catwalk outside the window is a Na'vi, the beads and loin cloth now fitting properly. They are still wiping away blood with the tissue, vaults hand rail, and casually discards tissue. The brightly colored blur of an Ikran flashes past the window. Presumably to catch the Na'vi that had looked like the cleaner.
Control room staff member "What the foxtrot?"
Hurwitz "Neat trick, I'm guessing that was our stowaway."
New Douche "I want that tissue, and the blood analyzed, priority 1." nobody moves for a moment "I'm waiting." everyone moves.
Including Hurwitz, He'd finished the door, it now reads 'Administrator Lars Pope, Ma, Msc'.

Thank you for your honesty, I was half asleep when I checked it over. I will go back later, when I'm more alert.


In the mean time, here is scene 15, I expect there are plenty of errors in this scene too, again I will revisit it and fix them later.
Oddly this was one of the first scenes I wrote out in full, but having written the the rest of the script so far I needed to slightly rework it a little. (some stuff I planned to keep till this scene have worked much better earlier on, somethings I planned to have left until near the end of the movie I have slipped in here, I edit out some stuff I had planned to use later, but have decided not to use now)

Scene 15

Hallelujah Mountains
For a full minute we see Jake flying among the mountains. Then he spots a wisp of smoke, flies to the huge floating rock it's coming from, Jake lands and dismounts Ikran. A na'vi is sitting near the vertical edge, sat on the ground facing away. He has a large bulky bag and a large piece of leather folded over, on one side of him, and a fire beside him on the other. He is straightening an arrow shaft, heating it over the fire, working it, then looking along it, over and over.
Jakesully approaches and 30 feet away stops says "Kaltxì!"
Rest of this scene is in English.
Outcast "You must be Jake Sully."
Jakesully "How did you know?"
Outcast laughs, holds up his left hand, straightens the fingers and uses his right fore finger to count to 5 on his left hand, except he runs out of fingers at 4. He returns to his arrow shaft. After a moment "I wont bite."
Jakesully walks over, and sits around 6 feet away.
Outcast satisfied that arrow shaft is straight enough, picks takes another stick warms it gently over the fire, resin oozes out, he applies this to one end of the shaft, he takes a leaf, splits it along its central rib, casually, showing much practice.

Outcast warms resin end of shaft over fire then applies the two split leaf halves "I knew I could rely on Hegner to give you my message"
Jakesully "I was told the message came from someone on my world."
Outcast, binds arrow flights on carefully "You're one of Na'vi now, so isn't this your world?"

Outcast heats up resin stick and adds more resin over the joints and bindings "Look, why do you think I speak such good English?"
Jakesully "I didn't know there were..."
Outcast interrupts (stops working on arrow) with a depressed sigh "Actually there is one, but no."
Jakesully looks blank, shrugs.
Outcast sighs "Do you really imagine that, in the whole galaxy, pandora was the only other place with life? Hell it isn't even the only place with Na'...." Outcast stops himself.
Jake is suddenly very attentive.
Outcast "Forget I said that. No, I'm one of the other species. For almost 700 years I lived as one of you, among you, fought in your wars. I'm here because you are going to need my help," pauses, continues with arrow "and the one here is dead. Didn't look after his life support. Skxawng." continues with arrow, sighs and continues "I'm a deep ocean marine creature, my people sent out researchers to interesting worlds, to embed and soak up the feel of their new homes. It's a job for life, you get trained, you're sent off, you die there, your replacement sends the transport back with you, your research, your artifacts, and this,"
Outcast hold up his left wrist, and points to the device attached to it. "Our version of your avatar, it's all in the control box."
sighs
"We've died out now, industrial accident. Vaporized all our water, and blew our atmosphere into space, not clever. There are just 4 of us left, scattered across the galaxy, I'm the last male, with no transport we can't meet up to restart our species." adds bitterly "There's even a planet that's perfect."
Notches other end of arrow shaft, heats resin stick applies resin to notch.
Outcast, still biter "No transport, except for one ship, and that's quarantined, something wiped out every living thing on board inside 38 hours, we never found out what it was, some kind of disease or a poison probably."
Folds back the folded over piece of leather in side are 10 or 12 arrow heads, like Na'vi ones, yet not like Na'vi ones. These are translucent, with grey feather like swirl pattens in their centers.
Jakesully Looks at them, transfixed.
Outcast "They're form my home world, well copies. Tougher than titanium, sharper than scalpels. Will penetrate arrow proof body armor."
Heats notched end of shaft, fits arrow head, binds, re-resins joints and bindings, blows on it to cool it down, one last look along it to check for straightness. Folds back the end flap of what is now revealed to be enormous quiver, 150 to 200 arrows already in side, 10 or 12 un-started shafts. Completed arrow in, shaft out. Begins straightening new arrow shaft.
Outcast "You don't need to worry about the nukes, they've been dealt with. Along with some other things that have been attended to as well."
Jakesully "Like sabotaging one of the shuttles?"
Outcast "Not guilty."
Jakesully "A load of bits are missing from one of them."
Outcast shrugs "Not me."
Continues straightening
Outcast "You know you nearly lost last time. You can't fight set piece battles like that. Not when you have such a big gap in weapons tech, you should know this from past experience. The way to beat a more advanced force is guerrilla warfare. Shoot and hide."
Jakesully "Didn't work for them in Venezuela."
Outcast "There was no where to hide. Plus you out numbered them, what 7 to 1?" continues with arrow "You still took a lot of casualties." Jake looks thoughtful, Outcast applies resin, fletchings and bindings "So do you want my help or not?"
Jakesully "I'll take all the help I can get, but you need to convince Tsu'tey & Mo'at, not me."
Outcast "Yeah, I know, but I need you to convince them to hear me out. They need to change the way they fight altogether, most only took a knife and two arrows into battle. They need a hundred at least, and they need to massively increase their rate of fire. They need to use what's on the ground to their advantage, and take cover. Not go charging around on horse back out in the open. Brave warriors but not experienced fighters. They live at peace with each other, which is great and all, but doesn't prepare them for war. Not this kind of war." completes arrow, swaps it for another shaft, begins straightening it. "Plus this thing, my avatar, it's invulnerable to bullets, explosives, toxic gas, the vacuum of space, arrows, knives, and pretty much everything else."
Jakesully "How did you get that cut on your face then?"
Outcast, smiles "Because I had it in the wrong mode, I forgot to swap. See it's not only humans that can be morons sometimes."

I like the irony.
A member of a species far, far in advance of the humans comes to offer help, but not with ray guns, planet destroyers or any awesome weaponry like that, just better arrow heads and tactics. But don't write him off just yet.
The reasons are simple, he could make advanced weapons for every tsamsiyu, the battle might last 2 maybe 3 minutes, and the movie would have a totally different in feel to the original. Not what I wanted. There needed to be rules, and logic behind them, to prevent this movie from turning into.....

I have to say it'd definitely be better as an actual film. It is quite tough to follow as a script due to the complex plot - much better than the original film as far as the plot goes...

I'm quite interested in where it's going with Jake's human Avatar.

Well, I more or less gave away what Jake and Max plan to use it for, the rest you will have to wait and see, plus it's setting up for an important aspect of Avatar 3, also scene 15 contains a hint at where that short story would go.

Earth
It is night. A shuttle touches down on the flood lit landing pad, the engines barely begin to spool down when the tail cargo door opens.
Parker Selfridge walks down the ramp, all the others are wounded, or carrying stretchers, the stretchers are loaded into medevac samsons, the walking wounded are helped into ground based ambulances with wheels. Parker watches for a few moments as the samsons take off and fly in the same direction.
Then the cryo units are unloaded, patients so badly wounded that they need to be revived in hospitals in order to survive. All except one are loaded into trucks, the one is separated, moved to a black civilian C21 Dragon, with smallish RDA logos, but not the 'RDA' letters, Parker follows and uses the side door as the Cryo is loaded via the rear loading ramp.
Onboard this C21 is very different to the one on pandora, expensive carpets, smart wall coverings, with expensive looking paintings. Four rows of seven first class fold flat exec seats are generously spread across the forward part of the interior space, aft is the Cryo unit. Parker takes the center seat of the front row as the aft and side doors close. Infront of him and dominating the bulkhead is a large view screen, showing the view forward, currently the edge of the launch pad area. The C21 takes off, heading in a different direction to the samsons earlier.
Over a vast City, reaching from horizon to dirty horizon. A few parts are in darkness. There are a couple of fires here and there, one fills a whole city block. At the edges of the fires, faint red and blue lights flash, hinting at police / fire / ambulance in attendance. A waiter in an immaculate suit and with a cloth draped over one arm walks politely from a bar in the forward starboard corner of the cabin.
Waiter "Would sir care for a refreshment?"
Parker "A large bourbon would be nice."
Waiter "Very good sir, ice?"
Parker realizing that the offer of a drink was totally genuine, "Umm, no thanks."
The waiter brings a generous amount of bourbon in a cut glass tumbler, "Will that be all?" his inflection encouraging Parker to ask for more.
Parker "It will." pauses and looks at the view screen, the waiter starts to turn away "It's got bad, hasn't it?"
Waiter "I'm afraid so sir. And If you will forgive me from saying so, I very much doubt it will get noticeably better any time soon."
Parker sadly "You may be right." Takes a large sip of his drink. impressed, looks at his glass of bourbon "That's the good stuff."
Waiter "Becoming scarce now sir. Tricky to obtain, but not yet impossible."
Visible on the view screen are the tall, well maintained buildings of the mega corporation district. Not the tallest, but definitely the most imposing is the RDA building, 20 floors from the top is a wide area as the floors above are smaller than those bellow. The C21 easily touches down here with plenty of space around.
Parker takes another large sip of his drink, the tail door slowly opens, Parker takes another large sip, the cryo is carefully unloaded, parker finishes his drink.
Parker places the tumbler on the bar "Thanks, I needed that."
The waiter makes a deferential motion, more than a nod, but not quite a bow.

Parker follows the cryo down the ramp, and into the building.
He watches the cryo loaded into a goods lift, it's doors close, the indicator on the doors show it descending. Parker waves his ID tag in front of a panel between the middle two passenger lifts, doors on one lift open immediately. Parker enters, the doors close. The lift is 15 feet deep, and 10 feet wide, the end opposite the doors has another expensive looking paining, the two other walls have view screens showing where the lift is in the building. Around the edge is a richly upholstered built in couch,  Parker sits as the doors close. The lift moves up. We see it move to the top floor, it stops and a gentle, soothing female voice says "Directors level and Pent house." Doors open onto a large and magnificent foyer, expensive carpets, wall coverings, paintings, in the center of the space a large fountain, stocked with large coy carp.
Around the edge, several doors lead off, each with a name of a top executive and their position. One has a sign that reads :

De Wolf Da-Silver phd.
vice chairman

This door opens and the RDA vice chairman from the earlier scene steps out.
De Wolf In a voice that seems genuinely happy and pleased to see Parker "Parker, do come in."
Parker is taken aback by this pleasant welcome, he'd expected something else.
Parker crosses the foyer, and enters the vice chairmans office, 40 feet wide, 45 feet long with a 15 foot high ceiling, the far wall is one large window. It the middle of the office a desk, 15 feet wide, 6 feet front to back, a large view screen is lost on it. Two chairs on the door side one on the other. De Wolf gestures to the two seats.
De Wolf "Have a seat.", crosses to a large drinks cabinet. "Can I fix you a drink?"
Parker sits and say's, slightly cautiously "Thank you, no. I had one on the flight."
De Wolf sits opposite Parker, his face showing only friendly pleasure at seeing an old friend at the most opportune moment. Parker is nervous but trying to hide it.
De Wolf "All things considered you are to be congratulated, quite a coup you pulled off on pandora. Left field, bold, courageous even, but the effects have been remarkable. Thanks to you we now have what amounts to a mandate for increased robustness toward the Na'vi, and Jake Sully is public enemy number one. Share prices fell sharply after our exit from pandora went public. Investors who sold the day before, could buy back many more for the same amount just days later. Now the share price is sky high again. I suspect it may not be so buoyant after news of a stowaway on Promethius, and what they did with the nukes."
Parker "Yes, I heard about that Mr Da-Silver,"
De Wolf "Call me De"
Parker "do we know anything about the Stowaway?"
De "We are waiting on test results. As I was saying, the board thinks highly of what you have accomplished, we would like you to lead a fleet back to pandora. Venture star, if she proves repairable, plus three new, second generation ISV's."
De Wolf taps at the view screen, then turns it towards Parker. The screen shows the new ISV, animated to show cutaways and specifications. De Wolf provides a voice over.
De "Six engines, 1000 ton cargo capacity, 1000 personnel, 80% longer, 60% broader, all new larger shuttles, improved load transfer interphase, artificial gravity courtesy of a generous annular section. And an increased range, as we now need to avoid a debris field."
Parker "How soon could they be built."
De "This was earlier today."
A flyby of a skeletal space dock, with three new ISV's. One looks finished. The second is almost finished. The third is only part complete, front shield only started, only one engine, no fuel tanks, only two of the three cargo sections fitted, none of the crew pods fitted, the artificial gravity section is only part completed. The Venture star is in the back ground and shows just how much bigger the second generation ISV's are.
De "First one will begin trials beginning of next month, the second a month after that, and the third 2 months later," Voice takes on a hint of menace "should have been first. She's had a catalogue of issues and fallen far behind schedule."
Both men look at the freeze frame at the end of the flyby sequence for a moment, then look at each other.
De "The mission is set for departure in 6 months. Of course we could hardly give such a mission to an lowly 'administrator', we would wish a 'director' to lead this. Would you consider such a position?"
Parker "You can count on me."
Camera begins to pull back
De "Excellent, I was sure we could. The board would like a report on the activities before the withdrawal, and a proposal for expanded operations after your return. Monday morning would be ideal, shall we say O eight hundred?"
Camera pulls back.
Parker "I'm sure I have a window in my diary then."
Camera retreats across the room we hear .....
De "Any questions?"
..... Before the camera leaves the office, the closed door not a problem. Camera turns as we cross the outer room. Down the lift shaft, out into the foyer where Parker parted company with Miles Quaritch's cryo unit, we follow its path, down the freight lift shaft, the lift is at the floor we want so camera enters it, waits a fraction of a second in near total darkness, the doors open and we see the pallet of assorted boxes properly in the light that floods in, this pallet is wheeled away to the right, camera leaves. This space is bare, painted cement, not an exec area, this is the working bowels of the RDA tower. Camera and turns left, takes the long second left corridor, past many doors, then another left and immediately right, along another long corridor, opposite the last door on the left a lab technician in a slightly stained, slightly frayed white coat leans against the wall, the door opens as we approach, the camera dodges around the similarly dressed lab tech' who emerges.
Wall leaning 1st Tech' "Lights."
2nd Tech' "Oh. Mmm."
Reaches around before the door closes, waves tag over a small pad on the wall lights out.
We hear the two technicians talking outside the lab, their voices slightly muffled by the thin, material conscious walls.
1st tech "So what happens with Miles?"
The lab is still partially lit my a couple of view screens.
2nd Tech' "The surgeons perform a miracle, he recovers fully and in six months he goes back to be head of Pandoran Sec-For."
A few Vivariums have lights, but no obvious life among the debris inside.
1st Tech' "Just like that."
Assorted equipment in this lab have power on lights, some flash, some do not.
2nd Tech' "What did you expect?"
1st Tech' "And the shmuck who shared his cryo?"
Camera passes a microscope, and a pile of filing on a desk.
2nd Tech' "Some grunt, you know the protocol. Some one important travels with a no body. If the unit fails, RDA looses one person they care about."
1st Tech "What happens to their body?"
Camera passes into a larger space.
2nd Tech' "Actually they get patched up, cost regardless. Best med care money can buy."
1st Tech' "Really?"
2nd Tech' "Luck guy, most seriously injured survivor," then with a touch of sarcasm "apart from Miles of course."
1st Tech', sarcastically "Oh, of course."
Sound of a lift getting nearer outside.
2nd Tech' "Severe crush injuries, had to cut him out of his AMP suit apparently. What was his name? Wineburg. Or something."
Sound of lift arriving, doors open.
Camera passes the cryo unit, current time 06 / 15 / 2160  21:57 and revive time 06 / 16 / 2160  08:00, next morning.
We see two names, only just long enough to read them 'M. Quaritch' and the second name is upside down, but reads 'L. Waynefleet'.
Sounds of the two tech's entering the lift.
1st Tech' "Sentimental old softy?"
2nd Tech'  Or cynical PR manipulator."
Sound of lift doors close, then sounds of the lift departing.
Camera pans across and reveals, an amino tank, inside the person looks younger, long hair, naked, very fresh looking scars, seemingly asleep, the occasional muscle contraction jerks him violently. Never the less they are recognizable, it's Quaritch.

Camera pans across and reveals, an amino tank, inside the person looks younger, long hair, naked, very fresh looking scars, seemingly asleep, the occasional muscle contraction jerks him violently. Never the less they are recognizable, it's Quaritch.

I'm more sentimental than the RDA (not difficult).
Besides it makes sense to have Quaritch transferred still frozen in the cryo unit, and they take two.
The protocol (1 VIP and 1 nobody per unit) seemed logical too.
So why not.
Trouble is I'm not so sure what to do with him. I'll work something out.

Scene 17

River.
Jake and Neytiri are fishing. They both stand on boulders in the middle of the river each sticks out of the water maybe a foot or two. Jake and Neytiri have their bow ready to draw, eyes sweep back and forth to try to spot a fish. Their arrows have a thin cord attached to the to make retrieving them easier., the sound of the water flowing is the only sound. Neytiri spots one, shoots. She pulls in the line, grabs the end of the arrow, and hauls out a fish around the same size as her thigh. She recites the same prayer for the fish as she would for any other prey, removes the arrow, places it with care in the basket that is on the shaded side of the rock, there are 4 others there already. She sighs, gives Jake a slightly smug look and returns to fishing. Jake looks into his basket. One fish, slightly longer than his fore finger, and maybe two times as fat. He looks at her, and goes back to his fishing. They stand semi motion less for a minute, then Jake sees one, he draws his bow carefully, shoots, and hits it. It's a big one. He plays it in on the line, till the arrow is with in reach. He bends down to take it, but the fish pulls hard, Jake looses his balance and falls in with a large splash. It just misses Neytiri, she struggles to keep a straight face. Jake finds the bottom and stand up, it's waist deep on him, he finds the arrow and lift the fish out of the water. It is slightly less than half the size of the fish Neytiri just caught with out difficulty, she throws her head back and laughs, Jake deliberately splashes water at her, it wets the rock, but she lifts a leg and she remains dry, Jake splashes much more water at her, she gets wet. Neytiri jumps in and splashes Jake back, they splash each other vigorously, laughing, for some time.
On the bank Tsu'tey and Peyral step out of the forest onto the river bank, Tsu'tey is about to shout at Neytiri and Jake, he looks at them not amused, raises his hand to his mouth, takes a breath. Peyral places two fingers across his lips.
Peyral softly in Na'vi "Do not"
Tsu'tey looks at her. Peyral looks into Tsu'tey eye's.
Peyral, still softly, but now sad, in Na'vi "Let them," turns to look at the two playing like children. "who among us knows how many more days they will see." But the subtitles only say 'Let them.'

Scene 18

Outside new hometree.
Pretty much all the Omatikaya are hanging around and pretending not to be watching the outcast as he finishes setting up, a target 200 feet away, 2 targets 50 feet away around 14 arrows leaning against a smallish rock. He trial pulls the bow string a few times, then fully draws the bow with out an arrow, satisfied he eases the bow string back unfired.
Only Mo'at is watching closely. He is ready.
Outcast in Na'vi, clearly and loudly, but without shouting "So who wants to win this war?"
Talk stops, all eye's turn him.
Outcast still in Na'vi "I am not the Outcast for this world, I am Earths." glances at Jake.
Outcast "But I have come here to help you. We can win this."
He takes an arrow.
Outcast "You are skilled hunters, and brave warriors. But you need to fight like you hunt. Understand your enemy, how they organize, how they move, how they fight. You need to understand their weaknesses and exploit them. You need to understand their strengths, and how to stop them from using them against you. You need to out think them, just because they have technology does not make them cleverer than you." Pause for effect
Outcast "Last time their body armor did not give protection from your arrows" he holds up a standard Na'vi arrow for every one to see, he readies it in his bow. He pauses, then in one fluid motion, he fires the arrow into one of the nearby targets, it has one of the old bullet proof vests on it. The arrow pierces it easily.
Outcast "Now they have a new vest." in another fast fluid motion he takes another standard Na'vi arrow, fires into the 2nd nearby target, it has one of the new vests on it. The arrow hits but falls to the ground.
Outcast "And they think they're safe, but they are not." Another fast fluid motion. Another arrow, this time one with an outcast arrow head, fires into the 2nd target again. The arrow pierces the vest, and the target. It lodges in a tree 30 feet further on.
Outcast "There will be many of these available, but for now we need to keep these a secret." the word secret being a word borrowed from English "Most of you took 1 knife and 2 arrows into battle."
Changes to a sad voice "And many died before they could fire any arrows. The humans shot as soon as they saw you." voice changes to a more determined tone "You know this forest, and how to be invisible in it. If they can't see you it is hard for them to kill you. And if you stay in what they call" changes to english "The Flux" changes back to Na'vi "their equipment can't detect you either."
He takes his time in selecting one of the unfired arrows, playing for a little time.
Outcast "There is one new skill I need you to learn, rapid fire."
Another fast fluid motion, arrow fired, this time into the target further away, then the rest,  all 11, in just over a minute, all hitting the target near the center. All pierce the target, not just stick in to it.
To himself, in english and half disappointed "Hmm, rustier than I thought."
Outcast in Na'vi again "You'll also need traps."

Oh, I thought you were referencing some kind of overthrow conspiracy within the Omatikaya, my bad. I guess I misread.
