As the title states, this is a thread for comments on my new story. It's really just a formality, since the etiquette topic said to post comments in a separate thread. Questions, suggestions, critique, nitpicks, constructive criticism, praise, regular comments, etc., I don't care--I just want to know what you think.

This is the first time I've shown this to anyone besides whoever is reading over my shoulder at the computer, and I do want to get some feedback to see if it's any good. I can't wait to hear what you have to say!

You don't have to stick to the length limit - you can post half a chapter in one post, and the other half immediately afterwards in the next post. I should probably add that to the guidelines...

Also, you don't HAVE to have a comments thread (it's not a rule or anything) - just, most people choose to as it makes reading the story easier: you don't have to wade through all the comments to find the chapters.

hes right. i went through earlier stories that gave way to the "story and comments" idea rather than "story or comments." Having to separate pages for both is better cause it can cause frustration sorting through the chapters and comments. This goes for RP stories as well: Currently locked down, Strange lands had to get an entire new web page on Zeta boards cause it was annoying to see the OoC and RP threads mixed together. Plus, there were several side stories, which added even more confusion among the RPing crowd, and not everyone was around 24/7 to keep the flow of posts in check.

Mmmm, promising .....

If you haven't already discovered it, there is a 20 000 character limit per post, so longer chapters will need to be split into two or more posts.
Pasha, an Avatar story, my most recent fanfic, Avatar related, now complete.

The Dragon Affair my last fanfic, non Avatar related.

and another thing. what is with the 20,000 character limit? several times i've writen a CH for my story and got frustrated over the fact that I had to split it in two. >:(

Well, forums aren't really designed for posting stories in. It's mainly designed to stop spammers filling up the database in one post, and such things - though it might be able to be increased, I don't know.

Yes, agreed, the 20,000 character limit is probably necessary for something, but very inconvenient.

Even though a separate comments thread isn't required, I've realized that it's easier for the fanfic writer, since they don't have to sift through their own writing and the comments of others, so it all works out.

Thanks for clarifying and commenting; hope you like it so far. The story itself is starting to pick up!
