Well, I've managed 2511 words into the next chapter (now that I'm done all my baking) and I'd keep going but it's after 3am and this is my one day to actually get a solid sleep, so...to bed I go, and I'll write more in the morning.  At least I've managed to get through the really difficult first part of the chapter, dealing with the aftermath of Grace's passing.  The rest of the chapter is mostly much lighter fare, and should go quicker

*grins* especially once I get Norm and Trudy talking.  I'm thinking miss Gertrude might have quite a bit to tease him about when she finds out just how crazy his family is XD

(edit) make that 2676 words, I realized there was one more paragraph needed in that scene.  And now I really am stopping for the night.  Really. ;)

Well, I haven't put that much effort into it yet, most of my energy went straight to writing :P
Maybe I'll continue making it during the holiday and being a bit more serious..

Oh, neat! In my Zoodi story I thought up a few words for another language, nothing really substantial, but persistent. I think it adds to a story when you can do that. :)

I believe you. I really do. Characters tend not to play by our rules, the rotters. One story I had a couple that was FORBIDDEN to fall in love (by me!!) as their bickering was so great. Ulte wiya, guess what they did...

Srane... I still grumble about that at times, although the situation made for interesting plots! :D

Oh yes, writing is an awesome way to read. Often it feels to me as if I am seeing what happens in front of me, in full colour and all, I just have to write it down.

Exactly! Like the story already is in your head and your job is to put it down in words :D

Ngay. Have you run into the problem already that so much happens that it is hard to keep up typing? I hate it when that happens, but those are often the best parts.

Once I was writing my Bactine story (For Nano last year) and there was an attack by pirates (the story is slightly steampunk and plays on a different planet). I was describing the attack and everything that happened on both ships, and there was so much detail in what I saw that it was impossible to capture it all in words. It is like watching everywhere at once, seeing what happens, how everyone looks and what they do, and picking out the best bits to write down. Too bad about the rest, but I often capture the essence then, and later I can fill in some spots that I remember.

(It is also awsome to write a story with someone else. I once wrote a story with 6 other people.)

I TOTALLY agree with that, I write so much better when there's more than just my brain contributing to the story. That'd be an awesome NaNo...take turns writing 1700 words. ;D
