I was thinking, and crying because of a book is quite.. something.
How do you write something that makes you cry?
It happens. I have written things while I cried and told Eywa "I do NOT want to write that!"

Why I wrote it? It was inside me. Perhaps the release of an old personal pain. An injustice that I had to deal with. But I did it. I am sure that many people who write, authors, writers, pamreltu know that feeling.

And I tell Eywa "I do NOT want to read that." And yet, I do. And I cry. Because it is... siltsan...
I doubt I'll ever write anything like that :/

I wish that you can avoid it, ma Le'eylan. I do, really.

Writing about the death of a child, even if it is (as some people dare to say) "only" in fiction, is hard. Because it is your own fictional child. You made it, gave spiritual birth to it, and then you have to let it go. That child is special in so many ways. Seeing that child die, with its little sister present, knowing that it has to die and that you are the one who is doing that...

(And this is what I have done.)

And dammit,,,  :'(

It is horrible, yes.

I have also murdered and killed. I wrote an entire gang of Albanian assassins and their Russian leader, and what they did was not pretty. Jean and Sharon (my cowriting friends) tell me I am a very good assassin. Not sure if that is a compliment. I've blown up mines and buildings. And killed an innocent man on a railway track. That was... gory.

Writing the attack on Hometree in my original Skxawng in Kelutral also made me cry, as I lived through the pain and terror of Puvomun. It's not just writing down what happened in the movie. It is living it.

That is why I am glad I also have Hilda, who is always fun to write. And her wizard, William, and her bestest girlfriend Baba Yaga.

Conclusion: Writing is awsum.

Now I got a question:
Continue until story is done, or read it all through and edit?

Look inside yourself. Do you feel the need to edit now? Then edit. I don't edit until I reread the whole thing. I need the flow of the story that pushes me on, so I can get it to where it wants to end. But that is something everyone has to decide for themselves.

I know people who write a chapter and edit that until they're done with that, and then move to the next chapter.

There is no right or wrong way to do this. There is only your way.

Good luck, ma smuke. It is time for sleeping for me now (I was up at 4:30 this morning for some reason :( )

Oh, and I draw as well to my story. Characters, scenes, things that will happen :3

If it were me I would definitely finish it before editing it. As it is, I'm letting my NaNo sit until NaNoEdMo (editing month, of course ;)) in March.

Amaya

I sometimes go back and adjust things a bit as I write, but generally I leave out major editing.  I might go back in and add something now and then but that's about it.  But do as you see fit, if you really feel the need to edit, then do it.

:P Hmmm.. Yeah I'll continue to write something every day until I'm finished. Then me and Mr. Edit are going to date quite frequently.
