How long does it take 'til I see my WU in the stat in the Internet?

when you finish your first WU your name will be added

I've got already 2, about 15 minutes ago the 3rd, but the list in the Internet says still 2.

it will add you another WU after some time, don't know exactly how much..

The stats update every hour or so. Just wait a little while. Your units will be added when the next update happens.

We are going great, the F@H is growing and the total WU points number keeps growing and we are getting close to the live boards!!

The uniprocessor client gives just 69-75 points/WU. If you have a dual core CPU you could try running two of them simultaneously. If you even have a quad core you could try running the SMP client.

My main computer is out. To many WUs are lost to UNSTABLE_MACHINE when my HDDs go down.

Good. Gives us a fighting chance to catch up. ;)

Good luck fixing the problem!

The one I'm using have dual core and I have another one computer have a quad core, but both of them run 3 clients...

What is the "uniprocessor client"? ???

The uniprocessor client is the "normal" client which uses only one CPU or core and gets the WUs with the lowest points but the longest deadlines. It is suitable for slower computers which are not capable of running one of the faster clients like GPU or SMP.

Ikran Ahiyìk

The "Folding@Home-x86"?

4 min/% but the points are really low...

Keep it run or not :P

I've got that before, but with SMP now:
4 cores @ 100%
20 min/1%

btw we're in the top 16,000 now! ;D

It depends. If you can run the SMP or GPU client without exceeding the deadline you should stop using the uniprocessor client. Otherwise you better stick to it.

Your quadcore should be capable of running the SMP client (start with "big" as acceptable WU size and the "-smp" flag) so on this PC you shouldn't run the normal client. If you're running the GPU client too you need to configure some advanced stuff to optimize CPU usage (the GPU client needs some CPU power, too). But I'm not sure on the dual core, just give it a try. The older SMP clients were capable of dual core CPUs but on the f@h SMP site they say you will need a quite fast quadcore. I have no experience with dual cores because I never had one.

For the SMP client: It is very important to accept big WUs and set the -smp flag, otherwise you won't be assigned any SMP WUs at all.

Ikran Ahiyìk

I forget I have set normal or big for the dual one; qual one is big and both have set -smp flag.

How can I change the settings and check what unit I'm working?
