Can someone help me out here. Earlier today I was able to play New Vegas, but it was slow and buggy. Later I try to play again, and now Steam says that it's servers are too busy, and thus the game is inaccessible. I changed my download location to a more remote place (Iceland/Greenland), but still no joy. Then I tried going offline, but it turns out New Vegas is a strictly online game.

What do I do now? How long are these servers usually "too busy" for? It says a few minutes, but...well, that was an hour ago.

EDIT: Deleted the BLOB file...nothing.
Ukraine...nothing.
Cambodia...nothing.

try again at a different time

it sounds like steam is being overloaded. although I've only had that come up on downloads
Only mostly AWOL.

Interesting that you should mention that. Becuase Steam is currently downloading Bioshock as if nothing is wrong. It's only New Vegas that is the problem, it seems.

That's weird. Why would Steam require you to play a single player game only when connected to the internet?

Thats nothing new ;)
try Mirror's edge and Red alert 3 offline singleplayer ;) those games won't play without internet ???
and you can't save any singleplayergames in Bioshock 2 without connecting to the  windows live accounts .....

But at the other hand, if you are going to play a game, Bioshock would automatically stop with downloading (but this happens to me then)

Managed to get back into New Vegas last night. Working fine now. TBH I'm not sure what's going on, maybe updates or something. I heard they were coming ahead of the release of Old World Blues. BTW did they raise the level cap to 45 early? I hit 40 with my last character (accidentally deleted him last week :(), then out of nowhere I started gaining XP again, even though the cap originally wasn't supposed to be raised until OWB. Any idea what happened?

Steam has been causing me grief ever since they made TF2 free-to-play. :(
