i'm just running through the main storyline again and am using a sigle laser pistol... still nothing better in the energy weapons section 
but... 1h 47m of game play and i'm already heading to vault 112

3)Vampire Edge

...because you can never have too many weapons...

but I have a cunning plan for getting back into the race
It involves Child at Heart and a lot of smooth talking...

No, I actually succeeded the speech test with 3 dog and did an about-turn there. Otherwise, it doesn't count as you beating the mission, You...

oh Sh*t... I just realised... In the rules you set out... You said the first to beat the final mission, not the first to beat all the missions! I could have just gone straight to vault 112 from leaving Vault 101!

and to get to Rivet City, instead of mucking about in the tunnels, I quick-travelled to the Super-Duper mart and swam 

3h 21m 06 seconds.

the problem with getting to vault 112 straight away is that if i remember right it glitches and the whole game F***s up

It can glitch to not always but its still best to save before going to the vault just in case.

and what weapon is your standard running about gun?

The weapon I probably have out most would be the lincoln rifle, for close courters combat like in tunnels or buildings I use paulon's revolver, and for really long stretches of open space I use the reservists rifle.

only way to get Paulson's revolver is off his COLD, DEAD CORPSE!!

...but let us not jump to conclusions, it may have been a perfectly normal accidental death involving alien blasters...

to be honest, i put him in harms way in order to get him killed.

Let's just say the the only things in the waste land that haven't gotten into accidents are me, dogmeat, and good ol' wadsworth. Fawkes accidentally got bit multiple times by a rabid dog and somehow received around 1000 bullet wounds to the head.

i have never even nearly lost a minion... I mean companion. Not even when dogmeat took on a behemoth, 3 or 4 brutes and a couple of masters (and i think there might of been an overlord but i'm not sure) he did not die.

Dogmeat is brutal. He can get items for you, he is nigh unkillable, he levels with you, he is always targetted first by enemies (bizarrely) and can run down fleeing enemies.

despite all this, i told him to return to Vault 101 'cos i didn't want the doggie to get hurt...

yeah...I have a soft spot for virtual combat pooches...

i have never lost a companion on a mission for the brotherhood, so i guess i'm a good leader....althoufgh there was this one time where i convised some brotherhood to follow me and they accedently died by a deathclaw.
