I can only hope they bring back Hans Zimmer and Nick Phoenix (Two Steps From Hell trailer music) to do the score for MW3.

Yea, the music from MW2 was epic! My favourite track is The Enemy Of My Enemey Is My Friend

No new engine, no improvement, same crap to me i keep my money for better game

Why would they even need a new engine? The COD engine is one of the best on the market. CryEngine is better, Frostbite is better, and you could argue that Unreal Engine 3 is better, but most other engines just cannot achieve what COD has managed. And I'm not even a COD fan.

Cod is dead because what i saw at e3 with bf3 is more better, the engine frostbite is also very good and not only because the u can make hole in a wall. Also the multiplayer are the main raison why i buy this game. Im tired to get noobtubed by kid or hacker

Or someone who has a baby on the background....... and one of the things you can do in MW2, is to kill child-soldiers

It's one of the only two engines I can think of that only has the same game with slightly different levels and a handful of new weapons every time but apart from that I'm not sure what the COD engine has achieved.

Heck it's not even named.

To put it simply: They need a new engine because it is somewhat dated & wasn't exactly spectacular when it came out.

The graphical jump from COD 2 to 3 is fairly large, as is the jump from 3 to 4. I can't speak for 5, 6, or 7. COD 8 (at least to me) looks like the jump from Bioshock 1 to Bioshock 2: Not huge, but noticeable.

If you're talking about gameplay then yes, I agree that the series hasn't really evolved at all. But the game is good as far as FPS's go. Halo Reach is what you get when you demand too much change.

Also, when COD 2 came out it was a console launch title and graphics like it had never been seen before. You could argue that it even had the best graphics of any game to date.

looks more or less the same as the other shooters of the time.
and as to the "You could argue that it even had the best graphics of any game to date."
You couldn't. Why? look at FFX. or FFXII.
and Halo reach was the result of trying to milk a series of games you'd effectively finished.
Only mostly AWOL.

We can agree to disagree about FFX looking better, but I'll definitely agree about Halo: Reach.

Seriously, CoD2 is the only game in the series that I like (I've never played the first thogh).. CoD3 was console only so it's bad by definition, CoD4, well, it got too many weapons and variations of these and many of them felt OP.

CoD4 had only 4 useless/completely redundant weapons.
UZI,Skorpion,74u & P90.
why? because the MP5 was flat out better.
(It also shares ammo with the G3. Which is handy if you almost always use a G3)
but other than that they were all OP together.
(Arguably the M21 is also useless as the draganov/Barret are better for power and nearly as accurate. but the M21 does have a handy lack of recoil for a sniper rifle)

Personally I think COD4 is the only one they got the campaign & MP right but I've not played the older ones much so I can't really comment on the gameplay.

And weren't the M14 and the M21 basically the same, jus the M21 had a scope on it? Or am I mistaking

they were the same gun. put an acog on both and you can't tell the difference. but you can't have a scope on the M14 and you can't have a silencer (or a red dot sight) on a M21

Okay, never played much online on COD4, but I played some old school matches with friends and one of the maps has an M14 with red dot.

I just read that MW3 will have zombies...

Quote from: Machinima blog about COD EliteIn the opening keynote ceremony for Call of Duty XP, held in Los Angeles, Activison CEO of publishing Eric Hirschberg confirmed the price point of Elite: $49.99 for the year. If, however, you decide to spring for the Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition this year, you'll get a free Elite membership (and, if you were lucky enough to attend XP, then you already know you're getting a free copy of the Hardened Edition just for showing up. Lucky you.). Elite also gives paid members access to eight times the video storage space for replays, as well as all the DLC over the course of the year for free. A nice package. It should also be noted that Hirschberg confirmed that DLC for MW3 will be monthly, with new Spec Ops, zombie, and multiplayer maps coming at regular intervals.

Okay I'm feeling slightly more optimistic about it now

There are several changes I saw there that I like but there's a few I don't. But still not gonna pay more than a tenner for it.
