I'm going to call it a game as there is a social aspect (as im aware of) and that can lead to user created minigame type of things. So srane, SecondLife is a game.

You can download things from the internet, like furniture and such or you can make it yourself with a program called SIMPE.

I'd like to warn you, I played that game many years ago and some downloadable stuff seems to crash the game, so at least run the game often while you're downloading stuff, so you can see what downlaoded content is causing the crashing.

Sims 2 is a well made game, however, it's easy to master and you'll get tired easily of it.

I managed to take a family of two from $18 to living in a dream house with two kids in about a (real life) week.  Once that happened anything else i did with it seemed boring until i found that Na'vi mod.
