Anyone here playing (or has played) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed?

I had played TFU (xBox) before on a copy borrowed form a friend but I'd heard of "The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition" and been looking for it online everywhere. God was it pricey ... there's guys on eBay in the US selling it for £70 (about $100 I guess) and there's a guy on Amazon UK asking £100 for a used copy.

Yesterday, whilst in Maidstone looking for a lightweight, waterproof, sports jacket (by which I mean one I can wear on my way to the gym) I wandered into a totally irrelevant shop (computer exchange), couldn't find one but decided to ask ... they only had it in the front window (something I'd utterly failed to spot) so I asked and got it for £38 ... don't expect me to be around for a month or so ;D!

FYI, Steam sells SW:TFU:USE for €29.99, which should correspond to something like £25.50.

I got it a while ago, and even though I didn't have high expectations, I was disappointed. The characters are flat, the voice acting dreadful, and the story simplistic. The combat can at times be interesting, but weird camera angles often manages to screw that up too. Of course, having already played TFU you would be aware of this, although I'm not sure what the difference between the original and USE is.
I hope you have more fun with the game than I did.

It's already released. I'm not getting it until it drops below €5 on Steam.

It seems to be getting fair reviews, so maybe it isn't as horrible as I imagine. We'll see.

The first one was really good. I liked the story (I'm usually more interested in the the story than the gameplay. :P In fact I got the TFU book.) And it's always fun to play with stormtroopers. ;D
The second one didn't really live up to expectations. It looked better and the fighting was improved, but it was really short. It felt less like a sequel and more like a DLC. I finished it in 4-5 hours (didn't find all the holocrons though).
Now I'm waiting for The Old Republic and I really hope it delivers.

tFU (lol) may not be the greatest game but compared to other starwars games I've played it's pretty high up there.

I finished the first one a while ago. What pissed me off was fightin the Bull Rancor and that SIth with the dual sabers. The rest was fine.

I saw the game guide for $10 in town the other day so I'm now going back ndgetting all the holocrons

Blimey ... everywhere I looked online it was out of stock! No matter ... I'm enjoying it anyway and I effectively paid with PayPal which is kinda "funny money" to me, LOL :)

I am but then I'm not a "real gamer", I'm far too old, like Nì'awtua Eyktan I'm more interested in the story so I just play it when I feel like it (and right now I'm configuring my new/ish media PC) :)

I heard The Force Unleashed II is not that good of a game, feels unfinished and shouldn't have been released now in this time with a lot of others big games

So the Sith bit turns out to be a bit dull ... just a few extra adventures with no real relevance to the story.

Oh well!

Played the first one and it was amazing but the second had one of the worst stories I have ever seen laid out.  :(

Played it. Keep moving and use the air dash to make the most out of your double jumps.

Hope this helps?

I have played many games over there years, and I found my self playing this game on PS3 and again on PS2 and wanting a PC version.

What was interesting for me was not the game mechanics, because after you have played a while they do get repetitive, I found myself interested in some of the characters, far better, and more thoroughly developed than main arc canonical characters from the six primary movies combined.  Even Darth Vader was more compelling and interesting, and the Emperor offered more menace.

I have TFU2, and I think I need to play it, but I am hearing varied opinions on the game from people who have similar levels of exposure to games to me, and my focus has shifted away from gaming in the last year.  Therefore, I am reticent to spoil my fondness for TFU by following the path down sequel milking road.  Too many game companies end up killing a great idea by making horrid sequels, or making a series of progressively more bland versions of the same type of game with minor tweaks based on a singular ill informed vision of what needed to change.
