Okay, so I watched the DVD all the way through and I mean ALL the way past the end of the credits. Did anybody see the THX logo animation? It was pretty cool and I haven't seen it in any other movie.

Also, immidiately after that it says "the views expressed in the interviews and commentary are solely those of the individuals".

...

Did I miss something? I know the DVD doesn't have either interviews OR commentary so why did they say that at the end?

Perhaps it was a mistake? I do not have the dvd myself, so maybe someone else can help out.

Don't thank! You don't thank for this! This is sad... VERY sad only!

The animation? I think the animation actually suits avatar well. Or are you talking about what they wrote?

It is standard spiel, it was an accident.  Great for collections, reprints won't include it I think.

The THX animation was a bit of a surprise, but kind of cool.

All movies contain some form of the quote:

"The names of individuals and locations used within this film are entirely coincidental" and the commentary note  is in any film that contains commentaries.

Standard issue legal cover-your-butt.

Right, I expect that. But it's not adressing any content that can be found on the DVD!

I saw that too (the commentary bit), found it amusing.

As for the THX thing, I've seen that many times before on the internet and on other DVD's.

'Itan Atxur

Oh well. I didn't think they'd make a new logo just for Avatar.

Like Technowraith said, that's a possibility.

I actually find that Avatar is such a politically relevant film that it could seriously be taken as a political work, thus the message becomes no where near an accident, and Technowraith's idea becomes more than just standard procedure.

The THX animation was quite cool.  I don't think that it trumps Pandora at night, or an RDA shuttle exploding after failing in bombing the Tree of Souls.

Well et's think about it for a second: It was James Cameron who dreamed it up and now he and Jon Landau and Sigourney are becoming pretty high-profile activists, so I think it's a little ironic in a good way.

Yea, that'd be my guess. Do it now so they wouldn't have to when they put the special edition out.

I loved that THX logo, so cool!! I also noticed during the credits, when it creditited James Horner for the music compostion, if you look closely, in the bottom left hand corner, you see Toruk! (Great Leonopteryx!!)
