we preorderd avatar on blueray a while ago with a blueray player
the player turned up yesterday and the bit of paper that comes with it said avatar was in the parcel too!

Well that's a bunch of pa'li crap, they put all the good stuff on the Blu-Ray ONLY and then screw those of us that only have DVD players, thanks alot. Looks like I'll be waiting longer after all.

I wouldn't read too much into what the guy said. He might just have seen "Low price.. high price... Must be a special edition!" and left it at that.

Even so, I'm gonna wait for the set that actually says "Special Edition" or "Extended Cut". Although, all this new Blu-Ray stuff is kinda making me think about getting one.

I'd rather know what I'm getting than buy something that I won't be happy with. Just my 2 cents.

He might have get fooled by a store who says "2 Disc edition".

I have seen a few stores writing that because it comes with the same DVD as the DVD edition.

Well I know I'll be quite happy just having the theatrical release to watch when I want, so it's fine by me either way. Extra stuff would just be a bonus.

i'm going to buy the extened if it does come out later but until then i'm going to enjoy the normal
blueray one

Yeah, I think I'll just get the plain DVD, and then spend the extra cash on the extended special edition one that comes out in November

Call me a heretic, I think I will also wait a little while longer for the extended cut. That should also buy me some time to get a 3d capable tv/blue ray player.

Mind you I also learned my lesson from the LOTR releases (i.e. theatrical version followed by an extended release)

Thats what I'm gonna do, I can get by on Netflix and Blockbuster until the extended edition comes out.

Just got my new 42" TV and blue ray player hooked up, and switched my avatar pre-order from DVD to blue ray... yeah, darn you Avatar taking all my money yet making it seem worth it...

And I guess I better get the DVD and buy Blu-ray when the extended edition comes out

I just noticed something, I'm the only one writing Blu-ray and not blue ray and I'm pretty sure its Blu-ray

Edit: There are some people here that do write blu-ray, I thought I had it wrong!

i have a PS3 to blue ray it with or a normal blue ray player..... and i'm pretty sure that one of the laptops floating about has a blue ray drive........

the reason for this is my mother can't work the PS3 to watch blue ray films......... and then bought a sony blue ray player that uses eventually the same operating system. so i still get dragged dowstairs to set up the films. it isn't fair
