Avatar's Re-Release Dated! August 27th!

No fake trailers, no "claimed" release dates, official information, straight from Fox themselves!

27th of August!

According to Fox's official re-release website (here)

On August 27, return to Pandora and re-experience James Cameron's History-Making Epic film, with more than Eight Minutes of Never Before Seen Footage- exclusively in Digital 3D and IMAX® 3D. Since - and largely as of result of - AVATAR's release last December, the number of available digital 3D screens has exploded, and moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, as well as fans that want to return to Pandora again, will now have that opportunity.

The Oscar® and Golden Globe® winning epic is the highest grossing film of all time, taking in over $2.7 billion in worldwide box office. It is also the top-selling Blu-ray disc of all time.

Something noteworthy however, is the fact that according to Fox's official international launch page (here), both Russia and Australia will be getting the launch a day early! And also taking into account the timezones, it'll be almost TWO DAYS eariler! (dates subject to change)

How exciting! In addition, their site also states that it be released "exclusively in Digital 3D and IMAX® 3D", so it looks like our past fears of IMAX not being able to run it, are put to rest!

I'm just so friggin' happy Australia is (apparently) getting it a day (thus, 2 days) before everyone else! Haha! I wonder why? Surely it's an error?
