Kaltxi, ma eylan.
How you can see, Im interested in your mind, höhö.
Well, Avatar has many categories which are presented. True love, trust, confindent in yourself, eco-problems, eeeeh and more. Movies and interviews or other social things can change our view, behavior and more. I know its sounds weird but everyone is weird so its okay  ;) I think...
Of coure I begin:
If you read my...first or second (?) post, I walk and move diffrent. It is also a good because my sport Im doing neads elegance. And the Na'vi do everything with swag (okay not the best word, but they are reeeally aaaawweeesssooooome ;D).
Its sometimes a bit..shockig when Im sitting like Neytiri as she protects Jake because his connection is broken.
In the movie Neytiri said (translation of the german version of the movie) "When you don't see anything, you see everything". I think that were the exact words. And its the truth. When your mobiles and other things are switch off and you are in the nature, everything is more...clearly to see. You see with your ears, your nose (smell), you touch and make your own picture of the enviroment. Its sounds strange, but your eyes often show you something which isn't the truth.
Im also a bit critical with the topic "be a vegetarian for the animals". I try that my family only eats meat where we now where it come from and that the animal..had a nice life. Through the movie i learned that it is okay when you kill an animal to eat, but of course only when you need to.
To protect the forests is now more important then before and I try that my friends begin to live also more eco-friendly...little steps have the way adding to one big step, or something in this way.  :)

Any critical views to my statement? Hope you show also your mind!!

Im waiting for your opinions :D
You can write me in Italian, French, German and of course in English.

From my personal experience upon how the film impacted my life, and in speaking with others who where impacted themselves also, this goes a lot deeper then topical intellectual surface changes, and can at least for some people impact upon ones own very unique "Atavistic" memory's in a emotive and often perplexing way.
and in all humble honesty this can really cause one to look upon the world through a new pair of eyes, listen through new ears, and speak from ones heart.
(I have noted at least in my research the film does seems to touch deeply those with autism spectrum challenges , this is probably due to how people with autism connect with and "see" the world around them at quite a deep level
its interesting to note that native American peoples "see" these people as "gifted" and our culture "sees" them as "disabled" there is a Indie film called "Bury my heart with Tonawanda" that explains this through quite a deep story.)
The Avatar Experience has a way of driving "for some" a very deep non-topical self reflection upon ones own inner core "Ethos" values .
But let me define the meaning of the word "Ethos" first.

Ethos is: "The characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its core beliefs and aspirations:"

Avatar in a cinema setting is a "collective" waking dream experience for many of the audience, when one has a large group of people collectively "sharing" an emotional experience the room has group energy and impact that is core realized deep inside ones heart, this is why Avatar "feels" so different in a cinema setting "Because its a shared experience  film".
Avatar's underlying story is about the non-topical "transformation" of the lead charter Jake Sully there is very powerful deep spiritual meaning at the core of the films mirror story "reflection" and since the film is also a "waking dream" experience , this opens up a part of ones "core" heartfelt human understanding that normally sleeps in people from our cultural ethos available allowing one to "bridge" or connect with a very deep root part of ones unique primal  memory's and feelings lying at the core of ones "ethos" at the center of ones humanity,
"Human being,,truly being human"
Going well beyond the light escapist entertainment provided by typical films to a bridging self reflection upon ones own inner values and of reflection upon ones peoples own very "real world history",
its very difficult to deny what one sees in a mirror and in some this can drive very powerful inner cognitive dissidence (So called Avatar Depression in some) as to underlying root ethics Issues with the "Ethos" values lying at the core of ones "being" and owns "own" culture.
There is a good example of this below in the youtube link and its important to remember though these thoughts and feelings "self evolve" as time passes and one gains there own deep inner insight and understanding upon these multi-generational root issues "I see you" takes on a new much deeper meaning here"
Post Avatar Depression Phenomenon - Another Perspective
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55NZ5246kNY
In the years after Avatar I followed my own leads down a path of research and human interaction , where I studied native culture , community structure , and leadership out of self interest and learned just how deep there understanding and insight really goes in dealing with these sources of multi-generational conflicts , the root differences that cause "ethos" conflicts between our and there people and between our own peoples themselves. Avatar speaks of a community unity bond , and through its symbology shows the Na'vi hold much bigger "relations" circles then our people do, they for example "core see" animals and plants as brothers and sisters "relations" as well" many people deeply "resonated" with this true sense of community "But" where upset that it only existed in James Cameron's fantasy world , with topics in forums like dealing with the depression of an intangible world,,,
If one really takes the time to study Native Understanding and community structure one will find many aspects of the
Na'vi community where mirrored from "real living native cultures" and I would really like to share with you some of the insights spoken upon by former Haudenosaunee leader Jake Swamp on the importance of healing multi-generational wounds,  I am going to include a link that jumps to the proper time inside a presentation made by the haudenosaunnee at the national museum of The native American Indian
(Its important to note Indian is a "label" our people gave "The people" when we came to this content)
in this talk Jake Swamp speaks from his heart on the importance of "condolence" but if one takes the time to watch the whole talk it will explain the deep structure there community has and what's truly expected of there leaders.
as well as some very important north American root history that few here are aware of .

I'm still pretty much the same person as before, in other words, a very cynical one.  I very much enjoyed the story qua story, and that a modern mythmaker was able to create a story and present it to the public did remind me that there are a few people who give a damn, but, really, the message is not reaching anyone who needs to hear it--or rather, it is reaching them but they ignore it at best and scorn it at worst.

Avatar was a fine escape for me.  It took me away to another world, a better world that has not lost its collective soul.  It makes a fine and beautiful dream, but for every dream there is an awakening, and the reality to which I must awaken every time is that there is no hope for the dying world that is 'Rrta as long as the aysawtute are driven be greed rather than need.

Will enough people be roused to give a damn?  Frankly, I doubt it.  We can put up a symbolic fight, as a message to posterity, so that it won't be said that we had not tried, but it will be no more than that.  Humanity's willful ignorance, as driven bit its incorrigible arrogance and its insatiable greed, is too strong.

Wow, I'm not alone, hrh... I'm very willing to agree. I wouldn't call it cynical, rather ... realistic.

Agreeing with the exception, that Avatar made me even more aware of what I can do to consume and waste less of nature's recources. But I'm not perfect at that, starting with the fact that I'm still living in my apartment, sitting in front of my computer and so on.

But yeah, maybe if not everyone would want the newest mobile phone every year even though the current one still works perfectly, buy more than they need and throw half of it away in the end, buy stuff imported from overseas, eat sweets that are wrapped in 10 layers of plastic wrap etc. etc. nature would maybe have a little chance, yet still everyone knows better but continues being mindless and greedy...

Maybe even if everyone would do something small for our planet every day, we wouldn't be able to save it... humanity is still growing and growing... like a locust swarm, eating our mother alive until there's nothing left we can consume.

Maybe one day we'll find us sitting on our porches, mumbling "This world's a treasure, but it's been telling us to leave for a while now", like Cooper did in "Interstellar". I hope not, but witnessing what humanity does and did in the past 100 years (!) to our planet makes me... pessimistic.

We're starting to comprehend what we did and still are doing to our 'Rrta too slow and try to make up for it even slower - and on top of it all, halfheartedly. That's not gonna cut it.

kaltxi ma eana unil sì dreamlight,
i love your comments, and I have the same view. im sitting here in my room and thinking of very good things, but im not in the position to do something useful, for more people than my friends and family..
we had the topic nature and environment in english class. i loved the topic so much. we read about a group, which strarted some things in school. they cleaned up the school and did days where you have to avoid some materials. they made a musical and so on. i really would like to do the same, not to do a musical, but something in school, a programm. and then we go to the streets and show the people how to live more eco friendly!! but im a little girl, in a big world..

could that be a new catergory, nature and evirmoemnt? everyone is with that confronted and the movie avatar shows us what we are doing with ourselves

We already have an environmental news category as a topic of discussion here, but yeah, but environment and nature in general (as a science) can be done, maybe as a subforum of the science section.  The world needs ideas and cooperation.

We fell in love with Avatar because we identify with Pandora as a world or the issues confronted in the story.  It's good that the schools are providing a venue for expressing the ideas, but the ideas need to be carried out into the wider world.
