I love how graceful neytiri is, as well as the rest of the na'vi. Who knows stuff to do that will make me more like a na'vi without being weird. Stuff like moves and body control training as well as habits

Neytiri fully inhabits her body. Most of us just live in our heads, but she is aware of input from all of her senses.  I would practice being aware of the scent of things, the feel of things, the taste, etc.  Use your body more, but don't be self-conscious about it.

When you walk outside or across the room, try to expand your conscious so that you are aware of as much of your body and environment as possible.  There are certain mindfulness meditations which may help you here, so you might wish to research that.  :)

Amaya

Darn!  SM got to this before me  :D

My instructions were going to be basically the same, but here are a couple of "exercises" for you:

When you walk, feel every step you take.  How does it impact your body?  What part of your foot touches the ground first?  Leaves the ground last?  What does the floor/sidewalk/ground feel like underfoot?  Try walking barefoot as much as possible (yes I know, not such a great thing to do in winter, but you can inside, anyway - what does the carpet feel like between your toes?)

Take time to breathe.  I know, we all breathe every day, or we'd die, but take time to concentrate on it.  Feel the air passing in through your nose, take note of all the scents it carries (that we can smell.  Yes, we don't have the noses of dogs, but scent still gives us strong memory-triggers - some of the strongest there are)  Close your eyes and breathe in slowly, trying to be as silent as you can...what are you aware of that you weren't before you started paying attention?

There are plenty of other such exercises; basically, take advantage of all your senses in every way you can, and you will be more aware of the world around you and your place in it, which will almost automatically make you move more gracefully.

I also suggest you cultivate the skill of walking quietly.  I've noted that a LOT of people these days just clomp around in their shoes, and not only is it potentially hard on your body, sending constant shockwaves up through your feet, legs and spine, but it prevents you from seeing and hearing all the interesting things that you'll see and hear when you're more quiet so the people and animals around you don't know you're there from half a mile away.  (maybe you're already a quiet walker, I don't know, but even if you are it never hurts to concentrate on it for a little bit and try to become even quieter.  Ninja skillz ftw!)

I really like what Amaya says here.  Try thinking of the body as a sensory vehicle and pay attention to the messages it brings to you, the being within the body.  The beingness which is you will some day shed this wonderful vehicle...so it is important to remind yourself to really  be here while you are here.

Me too. ;) And I walk very quiet. It's part of my nature, I wish it to be a part of yours. :)

I already walk pretty quietly, except for when I wear a certain pair of shoes. Seriously, these are the loudest shoes in the world.  :P How can I walk more quietly in my shoes?

I would suggest walking very slowly as an exercise. See where you put your feet, if there is a place which looks like it is louder than other places, avoid that (like walking on sand or grass instead of tiles and concrete). Get shoes with soft soles that eliminate noise.

Is there a place near where you live where you could learn Tai Chi? Tai Chi is a gentle form of Kung Fu and excellent for learning this. Also yoga is a good way to learn body- and mind-control.

Yaaaay you guys r the bomb, my questions usually dont get to many replys so soon! Yay im a cool kid. To answer the suggestion of whoever told me to learn tai chi thats totally a good idea! And im trying to convince my mom to get me archery lessons, in which i will shoot in na'vi form. I always run and walk on my toes, but my stupid feet sound like rice crispies, they crack and pop and i sound like an old person even though im only twelve! Eeeeeewwww old people feet.

Take care with that. You have a whole foot, so use that. My running trainer told me that using only the front part of your foot will put excess strain on the forefoot and the toes, which can damage that part in the long end. When you indeed learn Tai Chi, you will learn that standing on the whole foot will give you much more stability.

Try standing on your toes and move your upper body left and right - you will feel that you tilt and tumble quickly.
Now stand on your whole feet, feet almost shoulder-width apart. Slightly bend through your knees. Now move your upper body left and right. You will find that you are much more stable. And stability helps in becoming more graceful and fluid in your motions. NaNeytiri.

Etrìpa syayvi. Good luck.

If you want to walk like the Na'vi, stop wearing shoes! ;D

If you can't for whatever reason, I'd recommend VFFs.

I don't always wear shoes, but when I do, I make it those ;D

It depends on which ones you want, and also where you get them. You can get them from their site or find a shop with http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/productsupport/store_locator.cfm
I'd recommend either the classics or the KSOs (the ones I posted).

If you have more questions, try http://forum.learnnavi.org/general-discussion/barefooting/ :)

Lol good of u to catch that, it would be so beast to have opposable toes! Btw it would be really easy to get hit in the junk if all u had on was a loincloth! Im sorry for the dudes, seems kinda uncomfortable. Omg i had an idea for a fan pic, there could be this astronaut who just landed on pandora and hes talking and. ENeytiri is right behind him with her bow drawn two inches behind his head. Im tired so im off topic, sorry guys
