I went to a horror themed comic-con and saw something cool!

Yesterday I went to a horror themed and make-up (SFX) themed comic con. There, people present their talent in makeup and prop design for movies in either demos or merchandise. One of the top selling items sold there are photo-realistic dolls that are not human (Such as creatures, aliens, monsters ect.)- I saw a person carrying around a photo-realistic baby Na'vi and it was so cute! I just wanted to tell you guys cause I thought it was so cool! I found a video of what it looks like. Though, I am not sure who to buy it from.



I'm telling you, some people are just amazingly talented!  :)

This is amazing, the talent we have among us is always shunned by the negatives, I wish more of this stuff went around.

I found a lot of these dolls over YT. I think that it's so popular, so You must know about it. Because of that, I never post any info over forum.

Just search for avatar reborn baby then watch similar videos for each of these videos.
As I see, there are only two types of dolls: plastic dolls (painted to avatars) and silicone (made of blue silicone). Unfortunately I cannot found any Na'vi here. Every doll have 10 fingers and toes  :(

Here some nice realizations:

Yes! I have seen the reborn babies, which really are just normal baby dolls painted blue. The one I saw was professionally made by a makeup/prop artist who had advanced tools and materials to create the doll. I can only imagine how much that doll costed!  :o

I am always amazed by cosplayers dedication to their craftmanship. Myself, I can barely make a half-decent halloween-costume....

I completely agree, although I have to say that they didn't get some details right; five fingers instead of four, the ears are too elvish and the sockets at the wrong place of the head. But yeah, still awesome stuff ^^
