My friends think i belong on Pandora, not earth.

-Will be seeing Avatar for the 22nd time in about an hour.
-Owns the Toruk, Thanator, Banshee (ikran) toys
-Owns 3 Neytiri Mcdonald's toys, and 2 jake Avatar figures
-Owns the Activist Guide
-Memorized almost the entire Avatar sequence from opening to closing
-Is learning Na'vi
-Can communicate in broken na'vi. Or at least knows enough to say "skxawng" and "tawtute."
-Managed to talk over 30 of my friends into seeing Avatar, some more than 5 times.
-Talked my boss into going to see avatar with me (today).
-Got my co-worker to answer everyone with "Kalxti", even answering the work phone with the greeting

Yes... I have mental issues...

Wow, that's a long list! At least you are in a good company, here and there.

My friends and I were having a little discussion about Avatar and I constantly proved that I had no life by naming unnecessary trivia about Avatar. (eg. the name of the gas giant, the speed of the ISV, etc.)

Then, when I told my friends that I drove 30 minutes away to see Avatar in IMAX 3D for the third time, they thought I was obsessed with the movie.

I am.  :D

And then we spent a good 5 minutes or so in my History class discussing Avatar and its relation to the Mesoamerican occupation by the Europeans. Best class ever.

Hmmm...
Support group meeting: Big screen HD Hi-def TV. Hi-def blu-ray player
On the coffee table: Avatar DVD, Avatar Soundtrack. Activist Guide. Art of Avatar book. Laptop with Learnnavi.org fired up.

That's not a good support group for Avatar addiction... LoL  ;D
ahh there is something wrong here. I personally think that it wouldn't be a big screen lcd as much as a private theater and having the coffee room out back.

ps, I HATE COFFEE

Wow. I wish I had friends like you guys. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends. But none of them are Avatar fanatics like me. I want to actually speak Na'vi with some one. Not just type it.

I'm so gonna start speaking Na'vi to my customers though, just to annoy my co-workers.

Definitely going to start doing this next week at work. I work at the library on campus, and the number of stupid questions that get asked is staggering...and obviously leads to much snickering among my coworkers and myself. If I can teach them to refer to them as ayskxawng it will make work SO MUCH BETTER.

Though I have told people "Eywa ngahu" a few times instead of "Have a nice day" or something along those lines, no one has noticed yet...they're mostly too concerned with their cell phone conversations...in a library.

The best way to get a reaction form people:

If annoyed, hiss at whoever is annoying, then follow immediately with "Skxawng Tawtute."

If angry, "AySkawng Tawtute."

Works all the time for getting random reactions from people at work.

Same. I have 2 friends who sort of know it... like a few words. I wish I could actually use the language.  :(

I remember another one of my friends said "The Na'vi word for 'moron' is 'skown'" and I thought to myself, "fail..."

It means sky person. Literally;

Taw = sky

tute = person

:-\

It's the Na'vi word for us hoomans.

Don't you remember it being used multiple times in the movie? And you call yourself an Avatarian. /scoff :P

The Na'vi use "tawtute" to refer to the humans, and as Txontaw said, it is a compound word consisting of the Na'vi words for sky "taw" and person "tute".

Wow. Just... wow. I have no excuse for this.

Oh, and I use jMemorize for flash cards. So I didn't actually make them myself. I may not have the full word list   :(

I use memory lifter (for some reason jmemorize doesn't work on my computer) with the words broken up by type of speech:  noun, verb, adjective, etc.  If anyone wants a copy, or an excel file with them written in tab form let me know and I'll post it here.

If you could post that, that would be awesome. The more tools the better. I like jMemorize but it doesn't have all the features I'd like.

Here they are, titles self explanatory.  I'll post adverbs when I get it finished.  They're as up to date as possible.  I decided to post the files as .csv files, as they are the easiest to import into memory lifter and I think in this format they can be imported into jmemorize.  Here's how to import into memory lifter:

1.  File, new, then click "next" or "ok" until you get a blank screen.  Don't change anything.
2.  At the blank screen, click edit, import cards from file
3.  Select load file and choose whichever one you want to import.

Once imported I would suggest doing the following:

1.  Go to "learn"
2.  Select "learning options..."
3.  Under "learning tab" select mixed and deselect multiple choice.

This will ask you the words both ways, Na'vi to English and vice versa.
