Of all the CD's and DVD's I own, Avatar is the only one in perfect condition.

Seriously. I don't even breath when transferring the disk from A to B  :o

Same here...my April DVD/BD set looks like new. Same goes for my CE set (BD).

Pretty much all of my non-Avatar DVDs have minor scratches or damaged cases, mainly from letting others borrow them, or from cramming them on the rack. I won't let anyone borrow my Avatar discs, and they never go in the movie rack.

I let TWO people borrow my original DVD. The first one, the person was fired from her job and I never saw her again. The second took months to finally return it (in excellent condition though). Nobody is ever touching my CE ;D

I also don't put either of my DVD's (normal version and CE) on the DVD rack. I have a small shrine (blue spot light and all) for them and the books ;D

I had one person try to convince me to let them borrow my April DVD. Took him a good 20 minutes of convincing before he gave up and realized I wasn't going to give in.

I have a shelf in my bookcase dedicated to Avatar. All my books and such are there except for my CE (that sits on my dresser next to a dagger I have from Noble Collection).

I have a set of latex gloves to handle the collectors edition box so I don't get fingerprints over that glossy finish on the outermost layer.  8)

Yeah yeah, I know... I'm a tad OCD when it comes to Avatar.

archaic

Avatar, original version is pretty much permanently in the dvd player. Case is safeish. Both are currently undamaged, plus an unopened copy I have, is somewhere safe.
Pasha, an Avatar story, my most recent fanfic, Avatar related, now complete.

The Dragon Affair my last fanfic, non Avatar related.

Well, I only touch the corners to avoid finger prints so I'm with ya there. If I had gloves, I might do the same.

Haha "keep out of reach of children" ;)

I've been more careful than I am with most discs and no one is touching my CE, but I expect it to meet the same fate as my LotR discs... some of those got scratched from being used too much :P

Same here, not to mention I have double sets unpacked in a safe place like you guys!  ;D

Mine are too :) I am always VERY careful when handling my CE and I always shine it afterwards. My orig and CE have a special place on my desk at home and NO one touches them.

Slightly OT but a couple weeks ago I went to Wal-Mart and the CE was one of the only things under lock-up. Made me smile :)

I'll have to get myself a cloth like that so I can make my perfect disk even more perfect.

Huh...my Walmart has them just laying on a shelf next to the other movies :( Maybe shoplifting is an issue in your Walmart?

The CE case doesn't damage too easily (unless you actually make an effort to damage it). Just use something soft.

I usually wipe the case off with whatever is handy and not rough when I'm done using it, and I leave the outer cardboard sleeve on it to keep it clean.

Mine does have one scratch on the narrow top edge of the case, but it was like that when I got it...my mother picked it up at Walmart for me on release day, so I had no say. :(

I wipe off the case with my shirt too, and I keep it in the sleeve it came with. My corners are slightly dented but that's to be expected of any DVD sleeve really.

Funny you should mention that. You may be right because when I went to that same Wal-Mart at midnight on release day the ENTIRE SHIPMENT of DVDs was missing. The manager literally came out to me and said "I'm sorry sir I scanned for those DVDs, they should be back there, but they're not and I have no idea what happened to them." They had the Blu-Rays but no DVDs.

Wow. That totally sucks! I'll bet the thief's made out quite well with that, assuming they got away with it.

Agreed. That's gotta suck big time...showing up at midnight only to be told they were missing.

I don't know how many units are in a retail DVD shipment, but assuming they paid $0 for the entire shipment and sold them at $25/set...someone got rich on stolen Avatar discs.

Human No More

All of my copies except the standard bluray/DVD copies haven't even been played (I also have the steelbook edition (signed by Stephen Lang ;D), the normal bluray edition (signed by Paul Frommer ;D) and the limited collector's edition. I have a backup of the blurays on my computers so I don't need to take them out of their case (plus, the fact that I don't have a TV).

Dang. When I bought my CE I looked for the limited collector version, but AFAIK, they didn't make USA version :( Not sure about the steelbook, never heard of it.
