For the better part of a decade, the most fascinating narrative about the Avatar sequels was their release dates. Now that we think that's settled, director James Cameron has finally begun to reveal what the actual narrative will be about: Family.
[................]

The first of those sequels is still on track for Christmas 2018 but Cameron admitted that he's okay with changing it again if he must. (It was originally scheduled for release in 2014)

At the moment, the films are scheduled a few years apart. Avatar 2 will be released Christmas 2018. Avatar 3 will follow on Christmas 2020, Avatar 4 on Christmas 2022 and finally Avatar 5 on Christmas 2023.

I hope that it will be really at Christmas 2018 without next changes

It could make sense that the next movie will be about the family. Who owns the extended edition of Avatar with the unfinished stuff, there is a deleded scene one can see Jake touches (apparently pregnant) Neytiri's belly.

Yeah - but how many have people watched Avatar with this scene or it standalone? Not even meantion that most people watched only the shortest version of Avatar. So for us, hard fans, it is not something very new... we even know parts of plot of Avatar 2.

However, it is nice to see that J.C. was at the premier of Toruk - The First Flight in New York and did some advertisement in TV. Maybe, he said something intersting in the Show on NBC.

So if it's deleted, will there still be this whole situation?  :-X

I don't see this as a problem since JC could add a short introduction that could make the connection between Avatar 1 and Avatar 2 clear without having watched the extended or deleted materials. :)

Where can you get the extended edition?  :-X

I am not sure if it is on the "normal" extended DVD/BD, but on the extended collectors edition (I own one).
