Na'vi scent? Interesting. I always thought they smelled somewhat like the forest because the scent of prey lures predators. And what about sweating? That only enhances B.O. Baby prey animals have little smell and in the case of a few none at all. Baby deer comes to mind here. They must have a superior olfactory system to ours, look at the nose and how thick it is. Jakes smell is different to the Na'vi because it was commented on in the movie and in the world of animals scent is a VERY important part of life. Smell tells the smeller if there is a mate ready for ..um.. you know. Scent also tells the smeller if there is danger nearby, food nearby, rain in the air for plains migrators, there is the family smell in wich all the members of the pack try to smell the same ( i notice this with the canines ) and when you have to announce you found something you roll in it and wear the smell home to the others, babies no mom from her smell when all the other moms look like eachother, marking territory, and so on. I think it would be to thier advantage to smell like the forest. The are camoflauged by sight, and I know that hunters here on Earth make a big deal about not smelling human to scare away the prey by buying the urine of foxes, or using the urine of the prey animal they are seeking to help lure them close.
O.K., O.K., i know, I am a wildlife junkie.
