Neyn'ite Te Tsahìk Txeptsyìp'ite

kaltxì ma oeyä smukan. I know I haven't been active as of late. but I do need some advice.

I just (literally, an hour ago) painted Na'vi stripes on my arm. (lemme know if you want to see) and I've been wanting to get a full Na'vi arm, starting from mid-bicep to my fingertips. mostly because I want my true soul to show, but also because I've got thousands of self-injury scars.

now, I go through 'phases' where I'm obsessed with something and I feel like getting a tattoo. back when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was airing, I wanted to get the logo. not so much anymore. now I want to get a tattoo that my favorite character had, that will fit perfectly where I want it. and it's just a small tribal design. right underneath the ankle tattoo which is a Twilight quote that I sort of regret.

so, what do you guys think? should I wait? how long should I wait? I would love to go out and get it now but no money and of course again I might regret it. srung sivi ngeyä tsmuke? ;)

Kaltxì ma 'eylan alu Neyn'ite Te Tsahìk Txeptsyìp'ite :)

Well, well, well... Of course I'd like to see a picture of your painted Na'vi stripes! :D What kind of question is this?! ;D

On topic: If you feel this insecure about such a topic related tattoo motive, you should wait at least some months. Best would be a year or longer, so you could feel really certain about this specific motive. Tattoos are a kind of a big issue, because they're supposed to last a lifetime. A passion for a movie (or the big, beautiful background behind it such as in and around AVATAR) or whatever may not last this long.
So, think about it, long and thoroughly, draw or let draw a really good tattoo draft you're really happy with and then listen to what your heart says. If it says "get this sh!t tattooed already" after half a year or so, go ahead :) But choose a good tattoo artist with great skill and so on.

That would be my advice to you.

oe mllte, I've had tattoo ideas kicking around in my head for at least four years now, only two months ago did I get my first one done. If I'd gotten what I wanted a year ago I'd hate it now, but I love what I've got since its the one I wanted from the beginning (albeit with a Na'vi twist now  ;D).

You don't need telling that a whole arm tattoo is a BIG deal. You say you regret the (presumably smaller) Twilight tattoo you have, so I'd say wait. Put it this way, a full arm tattoo will cost alot, so wait until you've saved the money for it then re evaluate your choice. If you still want it then, go for it  :)

I'd ask myself if I really want to keep this tattoo passed 30 years.

If you doubt that, why are you even here? ¬_¬

Because the previous post were talking about thinking thoroughly before having a permanent tattoo with pros and cons. Tattoos can be great for a period, but depending on the person, he might regret it after some time (eventually years on the long term). Permanent tattoos are hard to remove (it can, yet...).

My post was suggesting a reflection on the long term, depending on how he might evolve. Not about me, just suggesting this because a few people I know started to regret some small tattoos they had. But this depends of the person. There are other people who are very happy with theirs, but considering the long term question seems a good thing in any case.

nang, nang, nang !! :o :o :o

I'm shocked !

Later this choice has to come from one even if that this really holds you has heart, make

It should on no account come from a sudden envy, otherwise it is possible that you quickly regret the choice having made him

Oh yes, Raymond Knowles is real, he's a friend of mine. And yes, he's planning to get light blue in there too. He's really going ALL OUT on this. Plus, his body is not the only thing covered in Avatar. Go to his profile and check out the pics of his truck! That puts the window decals on my car (which I still need to get pics of) to shame lol.

Anyway, ma Neyn'ite, I've seen the way you write about Avatar and how you believe so strongly in Eywa. I don't think you liking Avatar will be just a phase. I know it won't be for me. I will be getting an Avatar tat too (pardon the pun there lol) as soon as I can :)

it's times like this, i wish i had more money to laying around that wasn't allocated to other things. *** sigh *** from the first post like this I read , and seeing HNM's ink, I finally found something i'd be willing to commit to ink on me.  I've never been able to justify having one in the past as nothing that had enough meaning to be able to commit it to myself as I consider them permanent.
but having the blue striping even if it was just part or full arms i would not hesitate ( prolly cry my eye's out from the sheer pain involved at the begining as they aren't pain free ) but every tear is a testiment to the belief...........
