Concept Art Breakdown
« on: January 08, 2020, 01:01:27 pm »
Kaltxì!It's been awhile since I've been here, my apologies. Though, Avatar just released official concept art for the sequels!! Judging by the looks, it is STUNNING!! These photos get me SO excited! This is only a 2D flat image, just imagine it on the big screen in 3D! Not only have these photos gotten me excited, they've made me think and wonder about what's REALLY going on in these photos. So the first photo depicts what I think to be Neytiri and Jake looking over the ocean landscape. The trees and nature in the setting are just STUNNING. For the second photo, it seems to depict the new clan and their home at night. Just like the rainforest, its bio-luminescent and glows. What this photo w=makes me wonder is what exactly they'e standing on. Are they big lily pads piled up on each other? Is it a formation with water trickling down it into the ocean? It really makes me wonder!! The third photo depicts the Na'vi flying on their banshees with what seems to be their home in the background. Obviously I find the tree interesting and beautiful, but what really catches me interest is the Na'vi on the banshees and how they have packs, backpacks, and sacs. The one female Na'vi even seems to have a sack on her back, which one person has pointed out that it looks a lot like a baby carrier that we have seen in the first films concept art. Does this depict Neytiri with her child? Or is it just any random female Na'vi with a child sack? Or is it just a typical sack used to carry things? It really makes me wonder! Now for the last photo, it depicts two Na'vi on new sea creatures looking at the nature. I don't recall these sea creatures being depicted in Flight of Passage, but I may just be remembering wrong. I also find the floating rock formations really interesting. They're shaped differently and are more curved including the mountains. It's really, REALLY interesting!! This is my basic breakdown of the concept art and I would love to hear your ideas and theories!!  :)

These structures really partly remind me rice fields (rice terraces field) which we can see for example in Vietnam or southern China :)
