Ok, I might be dark for asking this, but when Wainfleet (The bald guy) dies, he makes the most epic face ever...

But I laugh SO HARD when I see this face! I don't know why...I guess it doesn't help with the noise he makes along with it but am I the only one that laughs at this? It's just so...funny to me.

No, you're not the only one who laughs at that part because I do the same thing. The noise he made when he was dying made me burst into laughter when 2 seconds earlier I was bawling my eyes out. I just didn't expect the epic face and noise he made.  ;D

Oh, I know right? It's hard NOT too! And karma for you since you do the same thing :)

That whole scene is just brilliant though, I'm always grinning so much at the marines dying, with my eyes still full of tears from before :)

They were just following orders.

I felt bad for all of them. But then, watching mass/gory deaths isn't my thing at all. ::)

I didn't really feel bad for Wainfleet, he was a jerk, but I was sad watching all those injured guys go into the plane. Jake could have gotten them some flowers...

That scene makes me so happy. His ignorance and machoism pisses me off.

He sort of reminds me of one of my cousins, so I've never taken much joy at his death. In the CE, there was a scene where he was looking at some marines who had been shot by Na'vi, and he was really sad. I wish Mr. Cameron had let us see both sides of the conflict more evenly.

Wainfleet's death was classic, but I took pleasure in seeing the humans (other than Trudy and Grace) get routed.  I make no bones about being a misanthrope.

archaic

They are RDA mercenaries, not marines. Even if some of them had been, before coming to Pandora.

Yes, they're following orders, but many would have signed up firmly believing humanities only chance of survival required unobtainium.

The logic is chillingly simple .....
Twenty billion humans want the gray rocks that sell for twenty million a kilo.
Maybe a couple of million Na'vi (but probably fewer) want Eywa to live.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Genocide justified.
