I hope the na'vi exist as much as the next blueskin, but i think that if we found intelligent life on another planet we would abbuse it and wouldnt be mature and smart enough to just respect it and not take advantage of the natives of that planet slash moon (to include pandora)

Human No More

Not me. Sentient life would cause a change in humans for the better even with news of its discovery, by shaking people out of their complacency, of their arrogance that humans are somehow special, as well as being the final nail in the coffin of superstition :)

Knowing we are not alone will go a LONG way towards humanity changing for the better.

Human No More

That's always a concern, unfortunately :(

Humanity has enough problems, but it still has the capability to change them. The question is whether or not they use it.

Well, in one thing humans are special indeed: They are the only species that is capable of destroying itself and everything around it - and unfortunately many take this opportunity with such a fervor that it gives me the creeps.

Creation's crowning glory, indeed...

So I sincerely hope that extraterrestrial life is eventually discovered (so that that discovery may put an end to human arrogance and lethargy).

Nevertheless I'm wondering what they might think about humanity in its current state should they discover us first. They could either be laughing their heads off for humankind's inherent stupidity or rather throw up their hands in horror.

If life will be found on an other planet, I hope that the human won't behave there like the aliens of our horror movies.
